I have a gas stove and these are perfect! Gone are the days of nonstick coating. My food tastes cleaner and I intend to buy a whole set.

I purchased the Tramontina steel 4 quart cooking pot for $69.99. I really was looking for a soup pot not too big but not small either. I thought before I bought this pot it would be too big it was not it was perfect. I thought $70.00 bucks for a pot when there others cheaper but something just kept bringing me back to this pot. I bought it. Well boy am I glad I did. This pot is built with 2 handles a long on on one side and a loop handle on the other side. The construction is very strong these handle are not falling off anytime soon or getting loose. When you cook with the pot it gets hot fast and boils quickly very surprising. the long handle does not get hot but the loop handle does get warm so you have to be careful there. When the pot sits on the stove its very flat I have used it for 6 month now and the bottom does not get warped or anything uneven. You can sear garlic in oil in it but you have to be careful it gets hot that fast. This is not a not stick pot but cleaning it is very easy and I do not recall having to scrub it very hard for anything. If something should get stuck to the put You will have no problem using a still mesh cloth to clean it. I have used them and you wont scratch it. The balance of the pot too It like holding Excalibur, Like Eowyn In the Lord of the Rings slaying the Nazgul" Back foul Dwimolate lord of Carrion"..Smash..over the head with the pot..its in the book., the saying not the movie. read the book. Ok I'm starting to drift.. back to the pot. Its highly endorsed by Frodo, Gandalf, Theoden Noo! sorry drifting again. I highly recommend this pot. Seriously its worth the money. This is my best pot....My Precious. Ahhh! just buy it.

High quality material. Even heating and easy to clean. Always buy their products made in Brazil not China

After having enjoyed a two-quart Tramontina sauce pan for a handful of years, I found myself wanting a larger-capacity sauce pan. I researched many brands and, after settling on this four-quart Tramontina, I waited over a year for it to become available on Tramontina's website. I eventually purchased it from Amazon, and this is what I've learned in the year that I have been using it. PRO ++ The handle. I use a light grip with my two-qt Tramontina when carrying it upright or when tossing food, but use a significantly tighter grip when pouring due to its handle's round profile (photos). This four-qt primary handle's rounded-flat profile, on the other hand, requires only a slightly stiffer grip when pouring. The primary handle is so comfortable that I've not needed the helper handle at all. I had based my need for a helper handle on my pouring experience with the 2-qt. This four-qt does require a two-handed grip for tossing food during cooking, but that primary handle accommodates both hands comfortably. + Made in Brazil. CON - Not drip free. The lack of a flared rim (photo) doesn't fully account for why this pot can be drippy when pouring - my non-flared, six-qt stock pot, for example, is less drippy. I see that Tramontina now makes a flared-rim, four-qt sauce pan (B004DPFMX8), but that is a tri-ply base rather than a tri-ply cladding like this B00JAQ6MGQ. UNDECIDED +- The lid. I don't know if Tramontina intentionally designed this lid to fit very loosely (video). It's possible that the looser fit, combined with the (rounded) bevel (photo), allows steam to escape without taking the food contents with it. I can't recall having a boil-over with this four-qt. With my two-qt, I have to be vigilant because steam and liquid can spill out simultaneously - perhaps its lid effectively traps heat until the tipping point is crossed and it lets loose. I have noticed that occasionally the lid of the four-qt will clatter, depending on the contents or the heat level. Finally, a PSA from Tramontina: "Cook or boil using low to medium heat only. Cookware with tri-ply clad construction requires only low to medium heat to sauté, fry or cook most foods. Using a high heat setting causes the cookware to become very hot, which may cause foods to stick, burn or scorch if added to very hot cookware. In fact, the use of high heat can permanently discolor and damage your cookware and void the warranty."

Looks nice. Tight fitting lid. Uneven heat distribution on induction stove-top; needs a heavier base. Very usable, but would not purchase again.
