Quality Cookware
Another excellent pan to add to my Lodge collection. I have had other cast iron pots and pans and I gave them all away once my mom gave me my first Lodge frying pan for Christmas. This pan is utilitarian since you can use it to fry on the stovetop, broil and bake in the oven, roast in the bbq or over a campfire, and it fits perfectly into my airfryer. This 12” is the perfect size for all-around cooking needs. I use it primarily as a baking dish for casseroles and seating meat, but its thickness provides precision heat distribution to ensure food cooks evenly on the stovetop or open flame. It’s pre-seasoned so its ready to go out of the box and cleanup is a snap. In my opinion, Lodge makes the best pans for the best price.

Great single person size, great on the grill, good depth.
Great depth and single person size. Can be hand washed, just put oil on a paper towel and wipe it down to protect it and prevent rust. Great for cornish hen, shrimp, veggies, single serve dinner. Use on grill frequently because I don't have a stove or oven to cook. Double handles are much better for the grill space and two broken wrists. Non-stick spray and high heat grape seed oil are very helpful with cast iron. Doesn't put off gas like Teflon dangerous to pet birds.

I seriously don’t know how I ever cooked without this cast iron pan in my life! First of all, the dual handle design is wonderful—no more awkward wrist twisting trying to list a heavy skillet with one hand. The balance is perfect, and it makes transferring from stovetop to over so much easier and safer!). Whether I’m searing steaks, baking cornbread, roasting veggies, or making the perfect skillet cookie (why yeah! Because why not?!?), this pan performs like a total champ! It heats up evenly, retains heat beautifully, and the results are always consistent and delicious. Bonus points? It’s LODGE, so you know it’s made in the USA and built to last for generations. Honestly, this is one of those pieces that feels like you’re investing your culinary legacy. So, if you’ve been on the fence, GET OFF THE FENCE and GET IT!! You won’t regret it! PRO TIP:: Give it a little extra oiling and bake it a few times when you first get it though (if interested, I’ll tell you how below) — you’ll fall in love with the results. Use an oil with a high smoke point and that forms a good layer of seasoning, like canola oil, Crisco (vegetable shortening), or grapeseed oil. I’ve used vegetable oil too. Avocado oil, I think can be used too, but don’t quote me on that particular one as I’ve never used it. But if I take a guess, I THINK it can be. But the FIRST thing you do even before oiling it and baking it is wash it thoroughly as soon as you get it with a teeny-tiny bit of soap and hot water, EVEN IF IT SAYS IT IS PRESEASONED! But ONLY DO THIS ONCE! After this first wash, you won’t have to use soap ever again! This is to remove any of the factory residue. But you are then to dry the pan completely. Then with a think layer of oil (I pour a bit on the pan and then take a paper towel and wipe it completely with oil in all of the nooks and crannies inside and out and the handle with an even coat of whatever oil you choose to use. Place it upside down on your top oven rack and put a baking sheet (or if you want to line the bottom rack with foil you can do that instead of the baking sheet) on the bottom rack to catch the excess oil that drips off the pan. Bake this @ 450 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour. Then turn the oven off and let it cool completely inside the oven to allow the oil to set. Now, for a smoother, non-stick finish, it’s BEST to repeat this process 2 or 3 times, BUT you don’t have to. I like to though, but who knows…maybe it’s because I’m extra. Then, BOOM! Your brand new cast iron is ready to make some magic happen!! Enjoy!!

Beautiful, quality made skillet
I wanted to make fried potatoes & onions but knew it is best done in a cast iron skillet. Amazon to the rescue! In two days my irder arrived! This Lodge skillet & lid is amazing! Unlike my cast irons from past years, this has a double handle which makes it easier to hold -- for those of us who are a bit older. I washed this skillet first with a tiny dot of detergent, rinsed well & dried it then put it on top of the eye with a little heat to finish drying. I then added a tiny amount of oil, used a paper towel to spread the oil inside the skillet and on the edges (and lid). I added my oil before adding my onions & peppers, cooking ,ust until they were transparent, then add potatoes & seasonings, and cook on medium temperature til done. OMG! Just like Mom use to make them!! The fried potatoes and onions turned out great with a bit of a 'crust' around edges. Then I wanted fried apples to go with my Oatmeal (I'd made on the side.) They were so good! I scrubbed pany remaining potatoes out, wiped with a paper towel. Then added my vegan butter, let it melt and sizzle before adding sliced apples. Tonight, homemade vegan Naan! I cannot wait to use this skillet again! I love to make cornbread, pancakes, and fried foods also using cast iron. (Note: tomatoe based dishes don't work well in cast iron skillets!) Lodge packaged the product well and gave clear instructions. Foods really taste better to me when using cast iron than using the typical non-stick pan. Place your skillet on medium heat til butter sizzles, then add cornbread mixture. Place skillet in oven til bread is done. Oh my goodness the crunch you'll get in edges when it is done! Delish! Thanks Lodge for an amazing product. Btw, I also purchased the silicone holders to make it easier to pick up the lid and two more to go on the skillet handles which make it very easy to pick up the hot skillet! All in, the skillet with the lid will be a great addition to my kitchen and at a great price!

Perfect size!
I'm sure I'll go to Cast Iron Pergatory for this, but i use this exclusively for Chicago pizza and naan. It is sooo perfect. Love the depth, diameter, and the two small handles instead of the one long-handled kind. Had to replace my other one since my daughter commandeered my original.

Probably the most used piece of cookware in my kitchen
It's cast iron. Need I say more? It's a kitchen workhorse that can be used on any kind of range...gas, electric, induction. I've even cooked over a camp fire with it. Solid as a rock and lasts forever.

Well-made cast-iron skillet I’ve only used it the once, it’s a perfect size for one person, I bought it to travel around Australia in my caravan, I did cook eggs in it and they did stick so it’s not a nonstick cast-iron skillet, but maybe it’s my fault for not having seasoned it properly.

I love this small cast iron pan. Great size for 1 or 2 people. I baked Potatoes Anna (in my countertop oven) using parchment paper on the bottom and the 3 potatoes were golden brown on the top and bottom. I barely had to wipe it clean. I love the two side handles. Please note that the 8 in. diameter is the top measurement not including the handles and the inside bottom cooking area is approx. 6 inches. Love it !

We love it, fantastic quality, came pre seasoned and we've just kept seasoning it every couple of uses so food doesn't stick, it's replaced our non stick pan as they wear too quick but this will last a lifetime. Would definitely recommend.
