I bought this because my wife is japanese and really likes takoyaki and i thought it would be a fun experience, which it was. Be prepared to screw up the first time but once you get used to the amount of takoyaki batter and filling to put in it gets much better. I found the best result was to fill (including the filling) up to around 75% where 100% is the max fill line. For people who can't read the japanese instructions (like me) and don't have access to someone who can, there are a good amount of videos on youtube about using this which were very helpful. One piece of advice I have is that the instructions say to add the batter and wait for 1-1:20 minutes before turning on the flipper but I found it works better if you wait for around 2 minutes. The slightly more cooked bottom helps the little arms flip the takoyaki better. Also periodically dab a bit of oil using the brush on the takoyaki as they cook if you like a slightly crispy outside

At first, very fun anticipating all the fun & delicious food we can make. Spent $250 on ingredients. Works best if let the batter cook for a minute or 2 before turning on the flipper. After 2 rounds. The machine makes a buzzing & popping sound. A little scary. May ask for a replacement.

I saw this on a YouTube video and was intrigued. It was expensive on this site but luckily I had some rewards points and was able to get this for free. Don't judge me, but I'm afraid of octopus and can't read Japanese, so I used a basic pancake mix and added sauteed mushrooms, cheese, and Italian herbs. It was delicious!! It was easy to use and I love how many different recipes I can try with it.

One, it's hard to maintain temperature controls. The temperature mechanism kept loosening, causing me to hold it in while having to manual term my food. The machine sometimes tried but mostly unsuccessfully to flip my food. I am trying to return the item. Too expensive not to work.

It is fun for whole family. Everyone have to work for cooking. It is pricey. The container for the batter is not useful. Still working without adapter.
