Really recommend, especially for breastfeeding families.
I started reading this to my then 18 month old son every night for about 6 months before his baby brother was born. I would talk about each page, relate it to how things would be in our house and sang twinkle twinkle on the song page to try to really engage him with it and he has been perfect since his brother came home 4 months ago now. He really seemed to understand and even be excited for his brother coming. I big plus of this book is it shows breastfeeding which is rare in these types of book. I tandem feed my boys so I really wanted to get him used to the idea that another baby would be feeding at the same time as him. He has never been upset or jealous that his brother feeds too and in fact holds his hand while feeding and gently strokes his arms. 🥰

Great for new siblings
A lovely little book in the series for introducing new siblings. Short and to the point sentences that allow the adult to speak about what's going on in the story and if the toddler is a little older allows them to also talk about things that interest them through out the pages. Lovely illustrations using real textures in images, that as an I enjoyed as an adult

Great book lovely illustrations, would recommend
Good sized books i thought they were smaller in the pics. Lovely book to prepare child for new baby. I am due baby 2 in 2 months and my almost 3 year old knows there will be a baby but this is a great visual aid. Love that the baby is breast feeding in the pics too. And shows the older child helping with baby. The only thing i didnt expect was it asks questions on every page eg. "Why does the baby drink so much milk? Why does the baby cry?" Great coversation starters for the child if thats what youre looking for, i just expected a story or facts. Overall would buy again.

Excellent for preparing a toddler/preschooler for a new sibling
This book is a step on from the pregnancy book from what's happening with mummy to setting out expectations and experiences that may happen when a new baby arrives. The previous one was great to explain what was going on and so we switched from the pregnancy one to this from 28 weeks to help our now 3 year old process the kind of things that may happen, ask questions and role play with her dolly before her little sister arrives. It uses comparison in many pages as a developmentally friendly way of engaging with the target ages' comprehension- why do I use the potty while baby uses nappies? I eat food whilst baby has milk? But also explains other things like going for a walk and still spending time with mummy and daddy. The good thing about this book is if you are intending on breastfeeding it is treated very naturally here, no hoohah or over-explaining, just natural that baby is breastfed, other books I've seen emphasise bottles which is great for bottle feeders but confusing for this age group if you intend to breastfeed. A downside is whilst somewhat androgynous (I'm leaning both children are boys) this book isn't as ethnically ambiguous as others in the collection with clearly blonde Caucasian children, for some it won't matter, for others visual representation is important, you need to decide where you stand. Overall an excellent book to prepare your circa 18mo-4 year old for a new sibling and the changes and differences in life shown in a gentle, positive and developmentally supportive manner.

Great for explaining to a little todler
We bought this book for our 20 month old and he loves it! There are lovely pictures of the new baby fitting into family life, such as the baby being breastfed by mum whilst the toddler bounces on the bed with daddy in the morning. Then it shows baby having milk while the toddler eats his food There are very few words so that you can explain to the toddler why for example the baby only has milk when he can eat sandwiches and fruit! I have found it very useful in introducing to my little boy how the new baby will arrive and fit into our life and that his life will still have the same aspects such as getting dressed and meal times but with the baby there too. It is so important that my little boy loves to read the book as I have bought others that he doesn't find engaging so wont entertain reading!

Pleasantly surprised to see breastfeeding in this book!
I bought this for my toddler for when baby no. 2 arrives for her busy box whilst I'm nursing and was so happy to see the mum in the book is breastfeeding the baby 🥰 so rare to see this illustrated and depicted now so very happy and it's very apt for the planned usage 😁
