Essential for BMW waterpump replacement, and effective
I'm used to DIY on my cars so have loads of tools - but not this one. Picked it up in a rush after the waterpump on my '99 323i (E36) failed, and actually surprised at how good it is for the price, I was expecting something 'flimsy but with holes in the right places' and it's quite solid. It'd bend if you used it incorrectly, but done properly - perfect. The holes on the pulley holder are large enough to fit over the 10mm bolt heads - no silliness - just hold that bar straight or if you can, support it against something solid. My car's waterpump and fan are original items with 120,000 miles on, and the pump bearing collapsed spectacularly leaving a lot of free play on the pulley, but this held the assembly firm enough to undo the fan nut.Once used it's slim and easy enough to store away. For the price it's well worth it even as a one-shot tool.If you're considering DIY replacement of your BMW's waterpump, get this, and also consider replacing the viscous coupling if your car's fan is older. If your dealer/mechanic is going to charge a couple of hours labour to do this job, you can easily do it yourself (it's one of the easiest I've encountered) and for the same price, replace all the belts, the fan coupling and even tensioners.Without this tool you'll be swearing and trying to take radiators out and all sorts. With it, you could change a waterpump in 1/2 hour excluding the coolant drain/fill times; it also makes removing the fan and radiator shroud easy for better access to the alternator, A/C compressor and belts. One of the first things to buy after getting a six-cylinder BMW!

Does the job adequately and at a sensible price
I bought these tools to remove and replace a cooling fan on a BMW E46 330ci. They are the right length for the task, but the tool used to prevent the water pump rotating has holes that are not quite spaced correctly for the BMW's water pump bolts and will only engage on one bolt (should engage on 2 bolts) - having said that it was enough to hold the water pump, although it did take 2 or 3 attempts to position the tool. On subsequent usage I must have got the hang of it and managed it much better, aside from the hole spacing it's thumbs up from me

E39 Belt Replacement
Fast delivery and this is an essential tool for most jobs on a BMW E39. Good price and quality of tools are excellent. I had no issues as a novice in using this to remove the fan clutch bolt.

Does what it says. Saves faffing about with mallets and other adaptations in an attempt to shock the nut loose. Still can be a bit tricky to locate both tools in the correct position due to access but once they are both in place you can crack the nut off easily. Remember to turn the opposite way to loosen! A must have for common BMW jobs - Cooling system repairs, VANOS repairs, belt replacements, oil filter housing gasket replacement and all the other common problems our BMW suffer from!

Cheap but didn’t fit pump properly
Wrench was fine but water pump holder did not fit the bolt pattern correctly. I managed to remove the fan despite this but others may not be so lucky. I guess it’s cheap for a reason
