Juniper and Zane
Even better than the first, if you can believe that. HSFR is a different side of the same story from Juniper and Zane’s experience.I have to admit, Zane had me momentarily forgetting about Leon — he’s so wickedly scrumptious. And he’s well-matched with Juniper, being just as strong, just as fierce, just as hot. (It was the submission scene for me!) And there are so many references to Zane and Leon’s bonding that I’d be so down for that story as well. I’m so enjoying this series recommendation and I can’t wait for the third installment. Everly’s story will conclude the trilogy and I just know that arch demon will be something else.

Amazing
As the second book of the series it DID NOT disappoint. I loved getting another view of the same (yet different) outcome. I think it's awesome how the characters overlays were perfect. It created an amazing picture of all the moving parts of the same story. Can't wait for book 3!

Absolutely amazing
Last year I read Her Soul To Take and it was a first into this theme of dark romance and all and I loved it! This one? Absolutely amazing! Obviously it has a bunch of TW but if you can handle them I totally recommend this trilogy. I can't wait for the last one!

So in love!
Absolutely one of my favorite books! Once I read her soul to take (also incredible!), I knew I had to get my hands on this book as well! Such fantastic books, I can’t wait to read more from this author! The one downfall of the copy I received of this book is that I noticed is that at the beginning of one of the chapters it’s labeled from the incorrect point of view. So I mean, not a huge deal, I figured it out rather quickly and kept reading. However there was also one point where I think a couple paragraphs were missing as the scene seemed to “jump.” While these don’t interfere with the story, I wish I would have received a copy without these issues. To end this review I’d also like to say that I love the artwork and detail!

4 STARS!!
You know when your mood changes when you're in the middle of reading a book. Yeah, that's what happened with this bad boy. Still super amazing I just wasn't into it as much as I wanted to be! But I cannot wait for Everly's book.

Amazing second book
I didn’t think anything could top Her Soul To Take but damn, Juni came fighting! Literally and figuratively. I LOVED this book. Zane and Juniper were absolutely perfect. I am a sucker for a reverse grumpy x sunshine, Zanes easy going, chilled attitude versus Junipers “look at me and I’ll stab you” one was a match made in heaven. And Zane really tried to break down her walls, the way he was trying to get her to lean on him and trust him instead of being so guarded made my little heart pitter patter 🫶🏻So much detail went into this book, the way it ran directly alongside HSTT timeline wise worked so well and we got little glimpses of Rae and Leon from what almost was behind the scenes of their book. Getting to hear and live through Junipers side of what happened to her was gut wrenching and I loved the revenge she got on Kent in the shed and what happened directly after iykyk 👀A bad ass couple through and through and Juniper is definitely in my top 5 badass FMC. Zane with his piercings, snakebites and forked tongue piercings. Harley puts crack in her men I swear to god 😂I’m so exited for the third and final book in the Souls Trilogy and to see what happens with Witch Everly and Archdemon Callum. I’m sure we’re going to get some battles, I feel like the Reapers are going to come back and I’m legit scared. If you’re a paranormal fan who’s into demons and cults give this series a go 🖤

I expected better
This review contains spoilers so read with caution. The cons1. I was surprised to read in the end that this book has had editing. There were errors in the pages, words or maybe whole lines missing in page turning, a wrong narrator (POV) title. In general, this book is ugly looking, cover aside. It's written in Times New Roman with amateur looking paragraphs and too many exclamation points. When I pay almost 20 euros on a book I expect it to look flawless. This looks like a draft. Do better.2. The excessive, unnecessary use of profanity. I'm no shy wallflower myself but I don't need 25 F bombs in every page to prove the character is a badass or using it to stress something. I can think of five different words to use to make the same point.3. Some things didn't make sense. For example, I never understood why Juniper killed left and right before she made the deal with Zane. It served zero purpose in the story and made her look insane.4. The repeating. The first spicy scene is basically a rewrite of the graveyard scene from Her Soul To Take down to the slightest detail. Zane wants, speaks, behaves a lot like Leon. It feels lazy.5. The poor dialogue and writing. I don't know what happened since the first book but the more I read this book 2, the worst the writing got. It didn't hook me like #1, I didn't picture it in my head. Instead I kept putting it down because the writing but especially the dialogues (Juniper mostly) were so silly, shallow and ...bad.The pros1. The spice! Masochist Zane is my new favourite thing to giggle about. That scene especially was very steamy. Loved it. I've said it in my review of HSTT that I admire Harley Laroux for her boldness in this area, although she tends to repeat herself.2. Zane. Although he's not written like a thousand year old demon (he behaves, thinks, talks more like a young adult), he's the interesting thing in this book. He's persistent, funny, sarcastic, vicious, sexy. Juniper is an anchor dragging this book down. She gets a moment to shine near the very end but for the most part, I found her extremely annoying and immature for a tortured soul.I'm disappointed. I spent so much money and read something I could've written in junior high school myself. Maybe because this serves a bit like a prequel to Her Soul To Take and we know where it's going, maybe the characters needed more elements so they can grip you, maybe the publishing of the book was rushed, I don't know. But I defended Harley Laroux's writing in my review of HSTT and now I have to bash it.There's only so far a couple of explicit sex scenes can take a book. I will buy the third book because Everly's story sounds interesting but I will surely not spend as much. Kindle it is.Let's hope for a better experience.

Epic story of revenge and love
Having been introduced to this author by reading Her soul to take, I immediately clicked with her style of writing and her brilliant story lines, her characters aren't your normal heros and heroines but they are fascinating and full of depth, the chemistry between them is off the charts, the passion hotter than hell (well Zane is a demon 😉), fighting for her life and revenge for her brother, Juniper is one strong woman, a nice change from soppy weak woman who fall in insta love in so many books. I read this in one sitting as I couldn't put it down, I can't wait for the next book as I know it will be amazing.

she’s amazing!
They just keep getting better, I sit down and start a book in this series and then I’m at 90% and I don’t know how it’s happened. I like dark dangerous men but I like when they are written so good even better.Harley yet again has written such an amazing strong leading lady, and who doesn’t love a women who can kick arse. Juniper is everything a women needs to be to survive in the world that is in this book. There is not one point of this story where you will be questioning why he loves her. She is strong feisty and beautiful I think I love her haha. These books will just continue to evolve into an even more amazing story and I’m already impatiently waiting the release for book 3. Just take my money now lol x

Absolutely amazing
Five fantastic stars. I’ve been looking forward to this for ages, and it did not disappoint. Juniper was amazing - fierce, feral and sexy yet vulnerable. And I didn’t think any demon character would be able to top Leon from Her Soul To Take in my affections, but Zane almost managed it. The story was just as fast paced and exciting as HSTT, and you root for the couple from the start. The majority of the events of this book take place at the same time as Her Soul To Take, and Harley combines the two storylines with effortless skill while still making this a stand-alone. Absolutely loved it. Can’t wait for the next book.
