great little gadget/tool comes in very useful for lots of little jobs, its quite sensitive to temp difference so it can detect a heat source from quite a distance although the actual temperature readout isn't as accurate the further away you are from the source, it runs off the mobile phone battery and it is quite power hungry, if your using a case on your mobile device you'll probably need a port extender i found these to be perfect for the job for the iphone x with an oterbox strada case https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S84GC3Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i chose this one over the flir one because you can focus the image for distance or close up and the higher resolution of the sensor helps alot especially with circuit boards and small detailed objects the only real niggling thing is the apps a bit clunky with the occasional crash or failure to load, also the constant clicking tends to be annoying when your in a quiet area, sounds like its broken but its just constantly calibrating the image sensor for temp differences, i like the fact it comes with a sturdy protective case that has enough room for the port extender (linked above) inside, other than that its great

Sadly I had to refund this product as it did not perform as expected. Temperature sensing was accurate but it was not realtime and smooth. While you are viewing it the video feed stutters and the unit makes a clicking sound as it constantly calibrates itself. My application requires absolutely smooth video performance and sadly this could not provide that. I did some googling and only units that cost £500+ are able to provide a smooth framerate so I will need to save up and get a more expensive one. Good idea though and worked first time on my LG G2 phone using the play store app.

If you are new to the world of thermal imaging you might not know what to expect. Unless you are just after a toy version, this is not for you. You can buy genuine dedicated thermal images now for around 2x the price of this, and they are far better. The microbolometer I'd the essential bit, defined by pixel density, (not screen resolution) and I recommend you go for 320x240, this is low compared to normal cameras but fairly high for a bolo meter. This item fails because of 3 things, the sensor, the optical lens, and the small form factor. Not to mention the awful app you download. It's a nice idea, but since the flir e4 became hackable for max resolution, the price of dedicated thermal images has plummeted. You simply can't bypass physics, and this attempts that.

Brilliant! Doing up an old house and it's a phenomenal help looking for damp, heat sources, hidden pipes, leaks etc. Resolution (I have the PRO) is excellent. The app is great too, very easy to use, and with a wide selection of modes and palettes. Minor niggle is that I have to 'allow' it to connect to my photo library every time I plug it into the iPhone, but I think that's Apple's fault... As others have noted, the FOV is quite narrow, so to take a picture of a whole wall, say, you have to be able to stand a good way back, but you get used to it. There are specialist survey companies out there who will charge two or three times the price of this, to come out with their own professional TIC and look for problems on your behalf, so buying this was a no-brainer. Briefly considered a FLiR, but their resolution is (now) pants, as is their app's need to be always connected to the internet (why?) This is a great little device, and so far, totally reliable. Love it!

Not exactly what I was looking for, images are really poor, not sharp at all, tend to have a lot of what looks like interference around the edges of shapes so you can't exactly tell wha t your looking at. Advertised mine on Ebay and will be buying a Flir One, seen the images from that and they're much better.

For one, the the comparison table is wrong, the XR field of view contradicts the item description. It's a narrow 20° as per the description not wide 36° as per the comparison table. Furthermore it's fully manual focus, and you have to constantly adjust the lens, so despite the extra resolution compared to the FLIR One, most of the extra pixels are just a useless blur as it's nigh on impossible to focus properly (The FLIR One has autofocus and MSX, giving a much better image despite lower resolution sensor). On paper the sensitivity is better but it's a noisier sensor so in reality you get a worse image practically all the time. Furthermore the "Protective Waterproof Case", not pictured on the site, is purely for storage, you can't use it while in the case, so even with a waterproof phone it really can't "withstand the elements" any better than a ziplock bag. It is however light and compact, though doesn't feel particularly robust. In the end unless you're standing perfectly still, in good, dry weather with no wind, you're much better off with a FLIR One or Thermal Expert.

Good product. Eats the phone battery though. The app interface is a bit confusing but I’m not an every day user so it’s probably ok if you get used to it. I’ve surveyed my house and use to see coolant movement in engines. Does that well. Hopefully a video of a bathroom sink is attached.

ho scelto questo modello perche' rispetto altri ha piu' risoluzione ( piu' sensori infrarossi ), maggiore' precisione nella misura, un refresh rate maggiore; di contro ha un suo click ogni 5 secondi che interrompe la presa diretta per mezzo secondo tuttavia il veloce refresh rate compensa questo fatto; e' in grado di scattare foto e registrare video, di visualizzare la temperatura con target centrale oppure di visualizzare le temperature max e min con target che si spostano automaticamente a indicarle. il software e' migliorabile soprattutto per quanto riguarda l'accoppiamento immagine termica e camera, di fatto lo schermo si divide in due e da un lato si vede la camera dello smartphone, dall'altro l'immagine di seek thermal, ovviamente il sw non ha cognizione del delta di distanza tra i due teleobiettivi ma essendo questi "paralleli" il software potrebbe implementare che l'utente inserisca il delta semplicemente sovrapponendo con pan le immagini in una fase di setup e a quel punto potrebbero aggiungere la funzionalita' di overlay mancante che aiuterebbe a individuare il contesto dell'immagine nel mondo a noi conosciuto (quello visibile a occhio umano). Tuttavia ho dato un giudizio positivo poiche' risponde alle mie aspettative, ho rilevato le canne del riscaldamento a pavimento poiche' avendo zone di riscaldamento separate e volendo controllarle per ottimizzare il consumo ma non avendo lasciato il costruttore la mappa di quale canna controllava quale zona e nonostante avesse separato le zone di installazione aveva riunite le 6 zone in sole due zone principali con 2 termostati quindi avevo necessita' di sapere quale valvola attiva quale zona e finalmente cosi' riesco a capirlo accendendo una zona alla volta dopo 15 min si intravedono le tubazioni sotto il pavimento legno o meglio si vede il calore localizzato delle canne che si evince alla superficie. Molto utile anche a chi si diletta in elettronica per avere visione di quali componenti riscaldano, l'ho presa anche per altri progetti e in definitiva consiglio questo prodotto anche a chi come me non e' un professionista ma vuole studiare il comportamento della conduzione termica nei materiali avendo un utile strumento di misurazione che dia riscontro alla parte teorica.

Je pose une photo de chats pour un utilisateur qui souhaite évaluer la précision de différentiation thermique sur animaux. Depuis que j'ai changé de téléphone, de Samsung Galaxy Note 3, microUSB, à Note 9, USB type C, j'utilise un adaptateur recommandé par le constructeur mais la détection est un peu difficile. Vivement une version USB type C native.

hallo ich bin sehr überrascht von der qualität dieser kamera. natürlich ist sie eine infrarotkamera und keine wärmebild kamera (dazu später mehr) das sollte einem klar sein aber sie ist für den preis unschlagbar. sie kommt mit einer kleinen transport box die super praktisch ist denn die ist stabil. so kann man die kamera einfach in der box in der hosentasche zum einsatzort bringen ohne etwas zu beschädigen. außerdem lassen sich auch tolle videos machen. man kann sie gut für die arbeit benutzen und die bauteile eines elektrischen schaltkreises beobachten und herausfinden welche warm werden und welche nicht aber man kann auch einfach ne menge spaß damit haben und experimente mit nicht sichtbaren wellenlängen machen. anbei habe ich zwei von mir selbst erzeugte bilder mitgeschickt beim ersten bild kann man deutlich erkennen dass auch kleinste wärme unterschiede auf der haut festgestellt werden können, das macht es vielleicht interessant für medizinische anwendungen und beim mit dem zweiten bild möchte ich was anderes zeigen die kamera ist meines erachtens nur eine infrarotkamera und keine wärmebild kamera das kann man an diesem video erkennen es ist ein video eines cpu kühlers während der rechner stark belastet wird erstaunlicherweise wird die themperatur des kühlers (welcher aus Metall ist) als wesentlich geringer angezeigt als die themperatur des stromversorugngsdrahtes. in wahrheit ist aber der kühler wesentlich wärmer als der draht. der grund für diese falsche anzeige ist dass der draht mit einer isolieung überzogen ist und deshalb mehr strahlung abgibt. allgemein erhält man bei glas und metall falsche werte. man kann aber auch deutlich sehen dass sich grundsätzlich erkennen lässt was wärmer und was kälter ist. ich vertraue der wärme skala nicht so sehr da ich nicht sicher bin ob die absoluten werte stimmen. außerdem kommen professionelle wärmebild kameras mit einer fehler tabelle (bei welchen materialien sie wie viel fehler machen) fazit für guter preis für ein super produkt absoluten wärme werten vertraue ich noch nicht (ich muss noch abschießende messungen machen) relative wärme unterschiede in gleichen materialien lassen sich gut bestimmen und grob lassen sich wärme quellen und senken gut ermitteln (man kann sogar den verlauf der heitzungsrohre in den wänden sehen)

Funciona perfectamente en un Samsung NOTE 8 y conforme a las características del sensor, la imagen es clara y conforme a la temperatura. Tiene enfoque manual y una vez ajustado la imagen se ve bastante nítida. La resolución es pequeña, pero superior a otras cámaras de precio similar. Es capaz de detectar la calor de cualquier animal. Evidentemente depende de la distancia. A mayor distancia, mayor debe ser el sujeto (evidentemente no va a detectar un gorrión a 100mts de distancia porque la resolución no es suficiente pero una vaca si). He subido una foto de mi gato y de mi ninfa. También de una placa de circuito en la que se ve claramente la diferencia de temperatura entre componentes y hasta se llegan a ver las pistas del circuito. Es una PCB de aluminio de una lámpara led. He valorado el artículo con la máxima puntuación ya que cumple con todo lo de específica en el manual y en las indicaciones. La página web del fabricante indica los móviles compatibles y hay manuales en español y otros idiomas. En mi caso he usado un adaptador Micro USB a USB tipo C compatible OTG para conectar la cámara al móvil. Importante: Antes de comprar este artilugio, se debe comprobar si el móvil es compatible (existe listado en la web del fabricante). Las fotos están sacadas con el modelo compact de 36° para Android.

Les températures affichées et les dessins des formes sont très précises. C'est cool qu'il y ait un zoom numérique aussi. Par contre on est pas du tout à 15Hz. Après avoir regardé une vidéo image par image, on est bien à 9Hz, et même en dehors des vidéos quand on regarde simplement dans l'appareil. De plus lors du petit clic qui rafraîchit l'image, cette dernière est figée pendant une demi-seconde, ce qui fait qu'on est en moyenne en dessous de 9Hz... ne correspond malheureusement pas à mes attentes, mon but était justement de pouvoir facilement trouver un mouvement. Retourné.
