National Hardware V6201 LTCH BLK N346-201 4-9/16" LokkLatch Automatic Keyed Gate Lock Latch in Black

I originally had installed a standard £5 automatic gate latch on this, but the force of the gate closing kept on pulling out the screws of the rod bit of the latch. I tried fixing it twice by drilling into the gate and gluing in a hardwood dowel to which I would screw the rod to, but even that failed eventually. In the end I decided to bite the bullet and purchase this and haven't looked back. It may seem like a simple idea of having additional screws perpendicular to the direction of the force (i.e. screws in the side of the gate), but this is the only latch I could find which had this. And latch build quality it superb and the whole thing is solid and seems like it will last for years. It does also have a lock & key mechanism, but I don't bother using it on this small gate.

This is one of the best gate locks ever, easy to install, good value for money, excellent security of property and does what it say on the box, secures your property against unwelcome people, highly recommended.

Had to return as unsuitable for my particular gate arrangement. Seemed well made and good materials.
