Excellent product for nail repair - you must use a nail resin or glue to set it.
Brilliant product for nail repairs, if used with nail glue/resin. I’ve noticed some users don’t realise it needs to be set with a nail resin / nail glue, from either from same company, or Elegant Touch or similar. I’ve long been familiar with the product but I’ve knocked a star off because this needs to be clearer for other buyers on the packaging. It is slightly fiddly if you’re working with a very small patch, small sharp nail scissors and tweezers are helpful. If you apply and set using 2 or 3 layers of glue/resin and file it smooth you get a durable and near invisible repair. You just have to know how to use it properly.

Exactly what you want from a nail wrap
I found this wrap really easy to work with. My natural nails have been really weak so I bought this to help them grow without them breaking super easily. You have to cut off a piece to fit your nail or fit the size of the break in your nail. Peel of the back and stick it on, the adhesive was surprisingly strong. The adhesive on the back, held it in place whilst I set it. With other nail wraps I've found that they move around on your nail, and make it difficult to set it in the right place. It's quite a fiddly process as it is so not having that issue makes it a lot easier. You need a nail resin to go along with this, the product won't work without it. It will look like white fabric stuck to your nail before you put the glue on. But once it's on, it will go transparent. One you get the wrap in the right place and trim it to the correct size (I would recommend cutting off any bits that go over the side of the nail too much before setting as it goes hard and is harder to correct. Once the resin dried, I buffed the surface and underside of my nails. The wrap and resin combination can make your nails textured, but using a nail buffer that isn't too coarse, works well to smooth it down and blend in with your natural nail. (I used a 240 board) Once I've buffed, I apply either a clear coat of nail varnish or just paint my nails to make them look normal. The wrap has made my nails much harder, they do not bend when under pressure and I'm not worried about my nail breaking doing everyday tasks. The wrap and glue combination also doesn't make my nails feel too thick. I don't like wearing acrylics because of how thick your nails are, I feel like I'm able to do a lot less and I'm too aware of them. I don't notice any difference in the thickness of my nails with this method, they feel very natural.

Excellent product
I think this is an absolutely brilliant product. I stuck a piece on a split thumb nail followed by a coat of the resin & a coat of nail polish and was able to use my thumb as normal for a week. It stayed on through swimming, gardening, housework, etc and then began to peel off so I took it off completely and renewed it yesterday following the same routine. I fully expect it to last another week. I do not usually do anything to my nails other than filing and nail polish and although have never used anything like this before I found it extremely easy to use. I can't recommend this enough if you suffer from regularly split nails. You won't be disappointed. So happy I no longer have to stick a plaster around my broken nails!

It works for me.
I wish that I had discovered this product years ago. My thumbnails frequently break low down and I have tried many things to stop the breaks from getting bigger; fingernail glue, tissue paper, tea-bag paper etc, but nothing held for more than a few hours. This product has been holding my nail well for nearly a week and shows no sign of peeling off. I used a layer of nail glue, then a strip of silk, with another layer of nail glue on top. After the glue dried, a quick file to tidy up and the repair is almost invisible. It might not work as well for everyone, but I am happy with the results.

Needs a flat strip of tape to help peel the silk off
Very difficult to peel off. Should be like double sided tape which has the backing wider than the tape. There's nothing to help get started. Also no instructions, I have no idea how I'm going to get this off when I need to. I bought it to repair splits in my nail which it has done really well. I used nail glue 1st, then a tiny strip of tape, then 2 more coats of nail glue. When thoroughly dry, I sanded the top very lightly to get a smooth finish. I don't wear nail varnish so I can't say if you can see the tape or not but the tape was pretty invisible when I finished.

Very strong. Very good quality. Stays where you put it.
This nail repair silk is very easy to use. It's strong, and can hold even half a nail break together till it's grown out. I have used other nail silks but this is the best I've found. It sticks to where you put it. Once glued down it remains in place. There is a lot in the pack too. All in all this is the best nail repair silk I've used. Very happy to buy more when it's eventually finished.

Un must have!
