Oxford School Dictionary & Thesaurus (Oxford Primary School Dictionaries)

bought for my ten yr old to help with homework, it`s a great help, very easy for kids and adults to use, dictionary in top half of page with thesaurus the on bottom half, so no flicking through the book, would recommend highly.

This is a nicely laid out dictionary/thesaurus duo with pleasant colour scheme (black and blue with bold/normal fonts) to make keywords and definitions stand out clearly. Our children (9 and 7) loved this reference book and they confirmed that this is an improvement over the Oxford Children's Dictionary which they owned for over a year. Nothing is 100% perfect and we noticed some omission of word entries but not a major dent on this otherwise excellent learning tool for school children. Highly recommended.

My daughter is in year 3 and part of her homework every week is to learn spellings and to write their meaning and alternative words so this was perfect for her. It's got the dictionary at the top of the page and thesaurus at the bottom so you only have to look up the word once. My daughter finds it easy to use, everything we've needed to look up has been in there.

I bought this item for my 9 year old daughter and I do not regret my choice. The definitions and synonyms are on the same page which make it very easy to use. My daughter told me it she finds it practical and it helps her with her literacy.

Excellent book for 10 year old granddaughter.

I purchased this for my 8 year old daughter. The book came and now I am in two minds. Did I actually purchase this for her or will I be the one using it more now that I have seen how good it works?? This is a really good idea combining the thesaurus on the same pages as the dictionary! Well worth the money!

Great dictionary...very thick and good quality paper

Why or why did no one think of doing this before? I purchased this Dictionary & Thesaurus for my 8 year old who is totally loving the fact that the dictionary and thesaurus definition is on the same page instead of having to use 2 books or searching in 2 different spots in the same book for his words. A fantastic buy and a must have in any household.

Exactement ce qu’il fallait

My son is 11 and I bought this for him. Out of 3 times we try searching for words, 2 words did not exist in the dictionary. Words like "guild" and "nonchalant". The word "nonchalant" only appeared in the thesaurus below. This is the most disappointing dictionary I have ever come across. The words we searched are from his English homework and are not uncommon or difficult. It is probably suitable for kids up to 7 or 8 years old. I will have to buy a new dictionary to replace this!

Book needed for school

No hubo ningun problema llego en menos de lo que pensaba quizas el enboltorio para ser un libro se podia mejorar y poner algo mas rigido para que las puntas no se doblen peto por lo demas todo bien

I didn't pay attention when I ordered it but the size is a bite too small. I wish I could buy a bigger size.
