These were the only mats I could get hold of at the time. They work okay but they aren’t as flexible as some of the others I’ve had. Still a good product.

This mat is awful. After the 1st use I knew something was wrong, but I was I fitting a new kitchen and had to get the plumbing done, so had to persevere. After 4 uses the mat looked like it had been napalmed. My favourite bit was when the label caught fire when I was soldering a joint in a sink base unit! What a treat! The mat has not form of rigidity, so when put a pipe through the whole in the centre it kept flopping down, meaning I had to secure it in place. Also, it has a god-awful smell when heat is applied. Spend a few £ extra and get a Rothenberg or Monument mat.

Used this mat and did what it should no problem

Although heat resistant the label sent on fire, the things I was trying to protect when soldering all got scorched…reverted to trusted methods of protection

You cannot burn this thing, I've tried. 10 minutes of map. Nothing. Now if you go too hot it will burn the coating off of it exposing the Kevlar that serves as the middle layer. You can't kill it, but it.

Found it worked well, but find that it seems really “thin”. I didn’t want to take a chance so I also used a wet rag to protect some other areas behind it. Otherwise, so far, they’re ok.
