In truth, I haven't used pen and ink since being forced too when at school. (Yes I'm that old!). The desks having a hole in them so as the ink well could sit in there and you dipped the nib of the woooden stemmed pen into the ink and practice joined up writing. Invariably it would scratch the paper and often tear into it. Not a happy childhood memory.However, a few years ago I was asked to sign an important document and the person produced a fountain pen and the sheer joy of signing my name with this pen was tangible.In recent years I have been asked to sign a number of documents and whenever I do I recall being offered that fountain pen, and I knew it was time to lay the ghosts of childhood to rest and purchase a fountain pen of my own.So I researched which pen would best suit me and, based upon the postive reviews, the Scriviener fountain pen seemed to stand out.Having purchased this pen, I have not been disappointed. It is beautiful to look at and the weight of it is perfect. The ink flow to the nib is consistent and the fluidity of the nib on the paper makes for a smooth and easy writing action. Simply signing my name seems to add a creative flourish to ordinary writing tasks.The quality, elegance and design of the pen belies its price point. It is sheer luxury at an affordable price.It is so perefct that it encourages me to write more as opposed to typing everything on a keyboard or on a mobile phone screen.The pen adds a touch of elegance and is wonderfully beautiful.An extremely happy customer.

Ordered this pen yesterday and it's just arrived this morning. I spent a bit more because my current pen's barrel it took heavy for me to use with the lid on. Consequently, I keep losing lid! This pen is a dream. It is light and such a pleasure to use. It comes with aperture to use with ink. But has two cartridges if they are your preference. I have arthritis and can no longer fit cartridges into pens. I'm well impressed with this pen. I love the design and it writes smoothly. This woul make a perfect gift . Highly recommend

Sometimes when a pen looks great it doesn’t write so hot. This baby not only has the Art Deco look, like it cost 5x as much as it did, it writes like a dream, straight out of the box. Feels lovely in the hand, too. I also like that you can use the converter for bottled ink, or a standard international cartridge. This pen makes you want to write more. Kudos!

Bought this pen last year, and it writes beautifully - smooth and effortless. Unfortunately the disc with the logo fell off the cap of the pen last week, and despite efforts to clip it back, it would not stay on. I contacted Scriveiner Customer Service - they got back immediately, and after sending photos of the issue as requested, they sent me a replacement pen immediately! Thank you for a great pen, and a superb customer experience.

Beautiful pen, but too heavy. Fine nib is like medium nib. So had to return it. Otherwise built quality is excellent, looks very premium. But difficult for everyday use.

Excellent fountain pen

I tore the paper off with excitement as the sun shone and my heart leapt.And in front of my eyes was this beautiful pen eminating in emotionally intrigue I opened a page in front of me and words flowed from my head.A wonderous childlike enthuisiasm gripped me along with my skilled intelligence seemless engaged in the moment I revealed my soul to itself.My wife cried, oh it's wonderful! And I've been crying and smiling ever since.I cannot express the glorious imagination I have felt, it seeps deeply from the end of this pen and the heavens have since wept with joy, life, sorrow, pain, through my love of words, this pen expressed.
