Easy & quick!
Used on recommendation for sealing chalk paint on my first upcycle project. Had been disappointed with the paint I’d used and read reviews on the furniture wax from the same brand so I purchased this. Very glad I did. It’s a very good, economical and easy to use paint sealer. Goes on like a dream but it is quite runny so don’t overload your brush. Need to work quickly and decisively to avoid slight brush strokes visible but be weary it can drip so suggest you check this as you work. Dries very quickly. As for durability, I can’t comment yet. Would definitely recommend and buy again as it can be used on all manner of surfaces. No wastage. No smell. Water based so easy to clean brushes. Win win product!

Fantastic product!
This product literally saved a newly painted bedroom wall! My toddler picked the new paint colour (supposedly washable royal blue), i painted the wall twice but every time it got touched or brushed up against it marked with a pale smudgy dusty mark! I was losing my mind trying to work out what to do or if i would need to repaint with a different paint product, then i found this and thought it would be worth a try- it is fantastic!! Can't recommend enough, it didn't change the colour of the paint just left a slight sheen over the top but now the walls can be touched or brushed against no problem! Thank you, such a great help with toddlers to not have to worry about the walls!

Does what it says
Does what it says. Flat finish. Looks great. It is a bit frothy/bubbly going on but absolutely fine when it dries. No gloss or sheen which is what I wanted.

Brilliant stuff
I have been doing a pine fireplace surround DIY project. I painted white Rustins primer on the wood, then applied 3 coats of Frankie & Stone white chalk paint - left the top as natural stain. Lightly sanded between each coat, wiped down with damp cloth then left to let the paint fully dry for 2 days. Applied 1st coat of Polyvine Satin finish (white bits only) with 10% water added, then 2 subsequent coats undiluted. Went on smoothly, very easy to work with and didn't lift any paint at all. Didn't change or darken the white chalk paint either. Left a very subtle sheen and is smooth to the touch. Brilliant product. Paint seems locked in well and still retains it's natural look.

Brilliant stuff
After a lot of research, ai used this on a chest of drawers that I had upcycled with a matte paint. Instructions clearly state that if you want a true flat matte then you need to give 2 coats of the soft sheen varnish first then put this on as a top coat. It's worked brilliantly! I used a brush very softly but I would probably use a foam roller if I were to do it again. But really happy with results!

Perfect
After spending ages looking for a varnish to use on a newly painted media wall, I was drawn to this one. The results after 2 or 3 coats look great and seem hard wearing. It's easy enough to apply and dries relatively quickly too. The only observations I would make are despite being flat Matt, the finish has a slight sheen, and there is a slight darkening of the paint finish, but nothing major. Will definitely use again!

Wish I had used this product first, it’s amazing over chalk paint
I needed a top coat/sealer for chalk paint that was totally matt finish. I tried a top brand polyurethane varnish beginning with ‘R’ claiming to be a ‘matt’ finish, it ruined all my hard work. Thankfully I only used it on my table legs and not all 8 chairs! It left yellow stains all over my nice white hand painted furniture and removed a lot of the chalk paint. It was far from being a Matt finish, more like a satin. Out of despair I gave this Polyvine Dead Flat a go. What a difference! A dream to apply and I can say with confidence that it does leave a totally Matt finish that’s so flat I can barely tell it’s there with no sheen at all. Works perfectly over chalk paint and maintains that lovely matt finish. The only way you can tell it’s on is by touch, it’s leaves a nice smooth finish rather than the dry chalky finish of the chalk paint which I think is a bonus for cleaning. Now I have my perfect combo for future furniture upcycling. Chalk paint and Polyvine. Tips: Once you’ve finished painting with your chalk paint, lightly sand the surface down, just enough to smooth the surface. Then apply 2 thin coats of Polyvine Dead Flat, no need to slather it on. Use a round and pointed natural bristle furniture brush for both the paint and top coat rather than a regular flat brush, it’s so much easier especially on things like chair spindles.
