Abracadabra Clarinet (Pupil's book): The way to learn through songs and tunes (Abracadabra Woodwind) : Rutland, Jonathan, Collins Music: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: If you are learning, this is the best book you can get! - I had never picked up a clarinet before, except at school when we all had a blow and I was not allowed to learn as I couldn't get a noise from it. Who would have known that you had to do something special with your mouth? As a somewhat expert pianist, I would have expected the notes on a clarinet to be in the same order as notes in an octave. I was mistaken! In fact, i would still be fannying about with a child on a You Tube video, showing one how to play the Pink Panther, had I not trawled the Internet and found this book! This book has taught me the clarinet in the space of six weeks. I can now play several well-known tunes and a few others, whilst reading the music. Like any instrument, a person can learn by ear, but I would love to be able to pick up any tune and play it, like I can with the piano. This book has it all, broken down into easy lessons. You learn a note, with easy to follow finger displays, and then learns three or four simple tunes with the addition of the new note. This book really makes you feel good about yourself and your playing and really, one does not need to pay out for personal tutoring, when one has purchased the Abracadabra Book for Clarinet! I hope that they have a more advanced book, though i really have a long way to go until then! Review: For absolute beginners - Teachers recommended this book and I am finding it good so far. I’m entirely new to the clarinet so it’s taking me a while.

Teachers recommended this book and I am finding it good so far. I’m entirely new to the clarinet so it’s taking me a while.

A great beginners book for the clarinet
I bought this to go with another book, in order to teach myself the clarinet. So far it has exceeded expectations, as I’m working my way through and at each new note or type of note it is clearly explained. There are also recognisable tunes very early on. I did learn the piano many years ago so the basics of reading music are still with me, but I think a complete beginner could also have no trouble in picking this up. I’m no spring chicken but definitely enjoying this new challenge

Making it easy to learn a new instrument as an adult
Explains the clarinet and how to play it well. Very fun to learn a new instrument! I brought a second hand version and it was fun to see the life it had before me. Buy new if you want a pristine copy.

AMAZING!!!!
I bought this book after reading previous reviews posted and it is amazing!! I have no musical experience except a recorder as a child and the only clarinet book I have used since I started trying to play a week ago is a basic beginners book. I have used this book for the first time today and have already mastered a few tunes and am managing to read music for the first time ever!! This book has done wonders for my confidence in my ability to progress. Fantastic for a complete novice to use without paying for a teacher.

Exactly what my daughter wanted
Daughter has just started clarinet lessons and requested this book which her peers have to be able to practice at home. Great product and service.

Good method book.
Clarinet method book in great condition with 2 CDs which I haven't used yet. Bought as per my clarinet teacher's instructions. You learn by playing exercises/tunes. Music is printed in a good size (which is great for me) & fingering charts are a decent size too.

Metodo molto bello, permette di far suonare subito i bambini dalla prima lezione e fornisce graduali concetti di teoria. E' tutto in inglese

Just what my son needs for Clarinet lessons as requested by the teacher. CD is the best to reinforce his efforts during practice.

This really does start at the beginning. I’m teaching my daughter, and this is perfect. It shows fingering on each page for new notes. Very simple beginning, which is just what you need
