In My Heart: A Book of Feelings (Growing Hearts)

Is a very lovely book and written in a simple way for kids to understand. I bought it used and the condtiond were great so judo to the seller as well.

The Mental Health Book Club Podcast loved this book, both Becky and Sydney gave it 5*. This book is a fantastic read and is a must for schools, children’s libraries as well as children’s bookshelves. The books heart concept is perfectly represented by the cut-out heart which decreases in size as the book moves on. It is fun, beautiful and a great teaching tool. The book explains emotions in a simple and yet profound way. Children are able to understand the variety of emotions we feel and understand how you might feel them physically. The book can be read alone by advanced readers, but more usefully it can be read with an adult to help start a conversation around emotions and their validity.

Such a beautiful book my 3 year old daughter enjoys touching the hearts and likes the pictures and colours it really engages her mind My daughter was really struggling with understanding and expressing her developing emotions and assaulting me and I mean assaulting me me quite badly I used this book along in combination with a no hitting book and time outs and talking to her about her feelings to reach her to help her get to grips with her emotions thankyou for the book I have managed to tame her and she understands her feelings and can communicate so much better due to this book She loves the book so much she actually takes it out and looks at it her self chatting away with her toys about the emotions And she often asks myself and husband how we are feeling today Thank you to Jo Witek

This book has been wonderful for my 25 month old son. It has helped him verbalise his feelings and we can now ask him 'how his heart feels' and he will say 'worried' or 'happy' etc. It has given him the tools to express himself. He has no trouble whatsoever empathising or understanding the character who is a girl (or indeed stories about mice, foxes, fish, bears...). I would have no hesitation in recommending this book to parents of girls and boys equally. The design is clever and it's enjoyable to read to him.

Found it funny, imaginative, engaging and colourful

Bought for my 4 year old daughter, I read it to her and her 6 year old sister and they both found it relatable and easy to understand. The illustrations are simple and sweet and the cut out hearts give it a special look! It's a simple and relatively short story but written well.

É um ótimo livro em inglês que fala sobre sentimentos, como professora de idioma, utilizei como recurso para aquisição de vocabulário e acho que valeu a pena! Como é uma história relativamente maior, sugiro para crianças mais velhas, de 8 anos em diante.
