Seems fairly easy to use and everything needed was included
We recently had some remodeling done and noted contractor was not so great about debris, in particular was sharps- nails, staples and the like. These are all metal and in a gravel driveway and deep grass hard to find. Wanting to prevent injury and damage we needed a way to locate and remove these things. What better way than a metal detector? An added benefit we could also locate our buried missing metal lot stakes and find miscellaneous buried wires and such so then was the old internet search and Amazon. Bit of looking and decided on this model. Thought for money best bang for buck. Needed to be fairly loud, easy to use and not leave us going “what, you need to buy this extra item to use it still?” Complete kit, even the 9volt battery’s are included. Never used one before but directions made it easy to put together, took maybe 15 mins and that was going slow and double checking as you went. Powered up, display was good size font and easy to understand especially for a total newbie to one of these. Found default settings fine, upped the volume and started a sweep of driveway. It uses different pitched tones depending on metal located. Kinda confusing at first. Also when near the sliding patio door that metal frame will trigger it so was not able to use with in say 6” of the frame and door. Once you sweep back and forth and tone seemed to repeat I hit the “zoom/narrow down my target button” as I call it. The button is in the middle bottom row, target lock. Very cool, constant tone when you basically right over it. Found many nails and staples and even a few screw driver bits lost long ago. Located my property stakes too with ease. I’d say worthy purchase, doing everything we need and seems capable of more and no extras needed. Plenty loud on the speaker, has headphones but never used. Can not think of any real complaints then again never had one prior and no clue what Im missing out on but for home use this works great.

This detector is awesome!
I absolutely love this detector. I've had it for almost a year and a half. It's my first one and it took some learning but I think I got it. Pennies range 71-73..nickels 42-45...dimes 77-79..quarters around 84-86...I haven't found any silver yet but I tested it on a silver bar I have and it was a consistent 92-93....if your hitting multiple numbers it's probably aluminum. Also on higher sensitivity very low iron numbers will wrap over and make it look like silver. I had lots of problems with this because of old nails. This even happens in all jewelry mode. I fixed this by putting the sensitivity to around 2 or 3. When you do get a hit go back and forth and find the general area. After it's located push the pp button and some bars will fill up on the screen and when it forms a full circle you are right over it with the center of the detector that also forms a circle on the coil. I bought 9 volt rechargeable batteries and had to charge them twice since I had my machine and I've dug probably 200-300 holes. That's with sound coming from the machine because I don't use headphones. It's very lightweight and it can be shortened and extended. I have used on a beach and had no problems with it as well. I put the coil under water too and it worked. I didn't go very deep because I was afraid I would ruin it. I've dug as far as a foot when I found an old sawmill blade. I've also found an 1868 shield nickel with it and an 1800's keg tap with it. The screen lights up too. On the left hand side of the screen it also shows the depth of the item that you are hitting. It's very accurate when it comes to the depth. I haven't had any problems with it breaking and has been pretty sturdy. I've dropped it by my side gently almost every time to pick up my shovel. I did buy another shovel though because I bent the other one trying to pry the saw blade up. It is very easy to use though. One push of a button and it's detecting. Its super fun and I'm addicted now. I'm out there till I can't see sometimes.

Works well, beware of holes!
Bought it used like new. Was good and worked well, but missing the instructions and/or item paperwork. That's the only reason for 4 stars. kids love it finding tons of carpenter nails all over yard. Though all the holes in the yard feels like it should've been a 2 star review lol.

Good entry-level detector.
A bit of a learning curve for a newbie, but fun to use. Not a professional level tool, but functions OK overall. Battery life is great.

Kids, beginners metal detector.
this was a gift for my son. It is ok for what it is. It is very sensitive, I went through all the settings and it still seemed to hit on everything in the ground. It seems pretty durable. Great value for kids to get the idea without breaking the bank. The headphones help with the sound. Metal detection was all over, we dug up everything. It was also picking up on a lot of trash, so we dug more than needed and my son lost interest. It was picking up depths of 6 inches

Worked for finding property pin, seems to be a great detector to get into the hobby.
I specifically purchased this detector to locate some property boundary pins and for that it performed very well. When sweeping in the suspected area of the stake I got a hit almost immediately in the All Metal mode, switched over to pinpoint and had the exact location of what I thought was the pin, using the very convenient shovel that comes with the kit I dug down 6" or so to find what I had actually located was a very old metal can that just happened to be inline with the steak a foot or so away. I played around looking for other things, found my septic tank lid, found and followed the conduit to my shed. For the intended tasks, the detector worked great and was well worth the money. I do plan to use it in a hobby capacity now, searching for artifacts near some of the old structures on our land. Finding stuff wit it is fun and addictive. It came with a decent carrying bag, two 9v batteries to power the unit, folding shovel and pretty high quality over the ear earphones. I'm new to this as a hobby but since the unit proved itself doing the non hobby tasks I feel comfortable saying this is a good first metal detector for anyone wanting to get started.
