I was worried it might be a bit 'old' for him, but we have heard that he LOVES this book - he already knows all the names, and has learnt some new ones, and he loves hearing the facts about each one. Also, the large, glossy pictures keep his interest.

Brilliant book
This book is brilliant. I got it for my (then 2.5 year old) twins who were, and still are, obsessed with dinosaurs. This book comes off the book shelf every day. They love sitting together and looking at the pictures. I've read it with them so many times that they know loads of the dinos names now, and makes me so proud to hear them saying the hard dino names. Lucky on each page there is a break down of how to pronounce each name, making it easy for you to practice it before telling your kids the name. eg. Ree-oh-hah-sore-us for Riojasaurus. It's got lots of little facts for each dino, and a little to scale diagram showing the size difference between each particular dino compared to a 10 year old boy (they assume the little figure is Andy from Andy's Dinosaur Adventures so that's cute). This book has delighted my toddlers and I can see it's going to keep them reading for years.

Great for Young Dinosaur Lovers!
I purchased this book for my nephew. My son already had the this book, as well as other nat geo kids first big books, and loved it. With it being dinosaurs the pictures are all illustrations - with the other nat geo first big books there are photos of animals. The details are very to the point and include details about where they lived and when, what they ate, their size and interesting facts about that dinosaur. There is a lot of detail and a lot of excellent illustrations in this book. I specifically like that the book compares the size of the dinosaur in silhouette to an adult human silhouette to give a better idea of how big dinosaurs were. My son got it when he was 4 and it is still ideal for him now at 6. I would say it best suits kids between around 3 - 7. Very interested, very detailed - I learned a few things myself! Highly recommended for a young dinosaur fan!

Dinotastic
I bought this for my 4YO son which started showing an interest in dinosaurs recently. I got tired of trying to find out the dinosaurs' names from google,so thought this book moght help. It is really well organised with a section for each:small, big, giant, gigantic dinosaurs along with interesting facts. It is two dull.pages for each dinosaur so the pictures are nice and big and also a (sort of) phonetical spelling of the name to help us parents with the pronounciation. It also has a little grid on each page to show how big the dinosaur would have been measured against an adult along wih what they eat and a little bit of eaay wording about what the dinosaur did. It is suitable for 4 year olds with the help of a parent but older kids would also find this interesring. I will be buying more in the series.

I bought it for my 6 years old kid - recently he became super crazy about dinosaurs after watching Dinosaurs Train - a web series on prime. After seeing his enthusiasm I thought of buying this. This book is so amazing!! He enjoys the book a lot, not only him even my wife and myself enjoy reading it for him. It has been designed so nicely - it fits best for kids right from 4 years. Illustration is so fascinating and content is well organized with crisp description, for that age group definitely it is very informative. Little downside : the case binding could be more durable, for that expense pages getting out of case's spine makes disappointing.
