Fantastic little scale, accurate, light, and such great value!
I've been using the scale now for a week, and wow I wish I had bought it sooner. I've had other scaless in the past, but they were unreliable, and always stopped working after a while. This salter scale I have found to be very accurate and so easy to use and set up. I didn't buy this scale for baking I bought it for weeing small weights of things. I sell things on an online marketplace and the postage costs, are always being changed I found half of the items I had on sale, were raised to double the price of their actual postage, and I was selling things without having the time to change any listings, as I had so many things for sale This salter scale has saved me so much money I actually made the money back that I paid for it, almost immediately, as half of my items where much less than the postage being charged. This really surprised me, and this scale weighs the lightest of grams, very accurately, without me having to do any work at all. I am so pleased I purchased this scale, and I'm sure it will continue to save me lots of money and further my business.

Seven years and counting
I’ve had these Salter kitchen scales for 7 years. When I first bought them I knew them to be good quality, accurate and a reasonable price. They also look good and are a nice size to put away in a kitchen drawer. They can toggle between four different measurements (metric and imperial, solid and liquid) and when switched off retain a memory of the last setting used. I’ve used these so many times over the years it seems barely credible that they still work. The battery life is good, especially for a CR2032 cell battery. Most recently, I’ve been using these to weigh dry and wet ingredients for my Panasonic breadmaker and it works quickly and efficiently. Resetting tare weight between ingredients is easy and changing between grams and millilitres is similarly straightforward. The only negative part of the whole experience is that the digital readout on the scales gets obscured by larger bowls. I’ve obviously put up with this for 7 years, so it can’t be that big a deal! The bowls I’ve been using aren’t that big so I’ve been getting away with it. But that slight negative can’t change my overall opinion of these scales; they are excellent and if I can ever wear them out I will buy another of these.

Excellent, but with some limitations
These are a nifty small set of scales that do a lot of things well. They have some limitations and are not the only scales you'll ever need but provided you're aware of those limitations in advance, I recommend them. First, the good things. These scales can weigh in a range of units; pounds and ounces, grammes and kilogrammes, fluid ounces and millilitres. Switching between these comes with the push of a button, so there's no need to convert between units if you're using an old recipe; it also helps if you're trying to convert an old recipe to modern units. They can be zeroed easily, which has been very handy for me when using a breadmaker; I just pop the breadmaker's bowl on top, zero the display and I start adding things, zeroing between each addition. No need to weigh things separately, nor even to measure the water as I can just switch the units to fluid ounces and pour. I've done the same with a pan whilst making parkin too, which makes adding syrup and treacle a good deal easier. The scales are small - even though the size is given in the product description I was surprised at just how small they are. They're also quite slim and this makes them very easy to store. The surface is easy to clean; just a wipe will do. The scales will also tell you when you've placed them on a surface which isn't stable enough for them to weigh accurately, and when properly positioned - a worktop surface is fine - they weigh accurately in all their units. So what's bad? Their size is both an advantage and a disadvantage. The area on which you place things is only about five inches across, and larger bowls and pans won't fit. Bowls with a good curve may also obscure the display, which means that seeing whether you've measured out enough or too much of an ingredient can be tricky. They don't come with a bowl like old-fashioned scales, so you need to use one of your own; this makes that 'zeroing' feature a necessity. The advantage of being able to add ingredients and zeroing the scales before adding the next one is removed if you need to weigh flour and then put it through a sieve, as this means using a separate bowl to measure the flour and when I've had to do this, I've dug the old scales out and used them. And they are electronic which means that if you're clumsy enough to spill lots of fluid on them they won't like it, and at some point they'll need a new battery and you just know this will be when you need them in a hurry. So they aren't the only set of scales you'll ever need and as I said above, I still have and sometimes use my old scales; not often, but even so. But provided you buy these knowing the limitations they have and treat them with care they'll serve you well and I am happy to recommend them. I use them more than I imagined I would and am very happy with what they do.
