Velda Pond Gravel 4-6mm 8 litres

I’m very pleased with this gravel for my small tub pond. The tub I’m using is 18 inch diameter and two thirds of this bag gave me an inch deep in the bottom. The bag weighs 8kg. The gravel pieces are small and they look really pretty. There isn’t a lot of powdered gravel when in the bottom of the bag so they are quite robust. You need to rinse the gravel before use and I did this until the water ran clear. The gravel pieces are lots of different colours. I’m happy with the amount I paid for the bag and I’ve got enough left to put on top of my pond plants. I would recommend this.

This is an excellent product. The bag is quite small but if I had to guess, you can do an inch layer 1/2 meter squared. I guess this would easily cover several baskets or so, which is what I bought the gravel for. The gravel itself is perfect for ponds and is totally safe for fish and plants alike. The only point I would make is that the post and packing I thought was a tad high at £5. This might have been a standard price but I'm sure you could deliver it cheaper. Having said that, if you were to travel to a garden centre or similar, it might cost you more in petrol costs. Overall, I would still highly recommend this product.

Decent pond gravel,shows up the bottom and makes it look very clean.

Perfect for topping the new plants in my pond and also those I repotted. Look attractive compared to just compost and of course help to stop the compost leaching out into the water.
