From Pea Soup to Evian – A Pond Miracle! 🌊
I’m a koi pond owner, and let me tell you, this product is an absolute game-changer! I used it in my pond, and in just a week or two, it transformed my murky, pea-soup water into something that could be mistaken for Evian – my koi must think they’re living in luxury! 😆 It works by clumping waste that would normally slip through the filtration system, making it much easier to clean up and significantly improving the water quality. It’s honestly brilliant, but here's the catch: After adding it to your pond, you'll need to clean your filter material after a day or two. Trust me, it’s worth the effort – your pond (and fish) will thank you for it. I have to say, the transformation was so impressive that I half expected my koi to start sipping from the pond like it was a bottle of spring water. Definitely worth every penny! One thing to note: After treatment, the water does go very murky at first, which is just the minute waste combining together. Don’t panic! Leave it until it clears up, then do your pond filter cleaning. Pros: ✅ Transforms murky water into clear, clean bliss ✅ Helps with waste filtration, keeping your pond sparkling ✅ Works quickly – watch your pond go from soup to spring water in no time Cons: ❌ The product doesn’t remove the waste entirely. If you don't clean it from your filters, it will just break down and go back into the pond. I’d recommend this to any pond owner who's tired of looking at green, murky water. It really does work like magic – just be ready to do a little extra cleaning! I’ve attached a video of when I added this to a holding tank so you can see the results for yourself. Ponds always seem to go green in the summer – it's like they have a mind of their own! Which reminds me, I better stock up on this stuff before my pond turns into a swamp again.

Good so far but some drawbacks!
That my pond was like pea soup after a hot April/May is an understatement, I couldn't see an inch into the pond and wasn't even sure the fish had survived the winter.....my Blagdon 6 in 1 pump wasn't up to the job, partly because the UV bulb had failed, as did the new replacement bulb, so I bought a second 6 in 1 pump, put some Barley straw in and still no effect even though I was cleaning the pumps weekly.... time to try Greenaway. Pros - Almost immediately it turned some of the algae brown, within 4 hours I could see a couple of inches into the pond and spotted a couple of fish.....24 hours later and I could see at least 4 inches into my pond and some of the underwater bridges I had with plants on, the fish are so much happier and darting all over the place even though the clarity isn't brilliant yet, at least I know they are alive! Cons - I used the water from my water butts in a watering can with a rose on to spread the product all over my pond, from the pictures you will see that it has turned the powder coating on my ironwork pond covers reddish/brown, I also have some red spots where it has come into contact with the slabs on the edging, if I need to use it again I will be careful how I put it in the pond. I am cleaning both pumps out once a day until the water clears as even in 24 hours the amount of green sludge in the pumps is horrendous. I am confident that with patience this is going to work, I'm not going to rush giving it a second dose as already my fish are much happier, more active and at least I can see them..... I will update in a week or so.....

A pleasant surprise worth the wait
Saw a few unfavourable reviews, but went ahead with this item after recommendation from trusted friend. It has worked superbly. I followed the (easy) instructions carefully and waited for the results - and I assume this is where the negative reviews come from - very little happened after a week, save for the filter needing a comprehensive clean - this stuff (as stated on bottle) causes muck to accumulate in the filter. After a couple of days and a second clean of the filter the water was crystal clear by the day after - a very pleasant surprise. It would seem patience is required! Shame that the bottle was damaged on receipt as a result of the usual delivery practice of lobbing stuff over my fence

It helps
We have used this product before, but purchased from a garden centre. I have always found treatment of green water a dark art! what seems to work one year or with one type of green water doesn't the next time! However, whenever we have experieinced problems with the treatment we have always discovered that the problem we faced was not what we thought it was. In this product's case, we know that our pond will be subjected to at least 5 hours of direct sunlight through the months of May through to the end of September and we nearly always experience an algal bloom of some type or other and this seems to sort it out. Best applied first thing in the morning (ph is often lower then) and if you want the maximum benefit test the ph of the water first as this product is most effective between a ph of 6.5 to 8.5. Mix the required amount into a watering can and sprinkle it over the surface of the water you want to treat. It should clear the water in a single treatment, however, a further treatment may be required. You should expect an increase of sludge from the dead algae which might require a filter and pump clean in heavily "infected" ponds and I always use Blagdon sludge buster after applying this product to break down the dead algae to prevent that being a problem. Better used as soon as a bloom starts to form, or as we do around once a month from the end of May.
