If you don’t like spending more than necessary on projects that you can do yourself then this is a must for anyone laying paving or similar. It’s a hefty thing at 4.5kg which may not seem that heavy but when tamping down a sub base it really does the job. Draper is a decent make and for the price I don’t think you could argue that it’s not worth it. It definitely is.

It’s a solid tool, decent welds and did the job - wouldn’t recommend it for anything larger than 1 or 2m2

Good quality product, used it lots for packing down clay, 20mm shingle and sharp sand etc, does what I need it to and have lent it to others with no issues, gives your shoulders and biceps a workout too!

I chose mostly on price as most of these things seemed to be almost identical, I particularly like Draper so I let that stand above other brands. It was a good choice as it has done the jhob nicely, a good weitght nicely balanced and thus easy to use. Definitely the best value choice.

Decent quality, no sign of wearing. It does take some effort to manually tamper but thats the point of this over a wacker plate. wet mud etc.. sticks to the bottom and the head size is a little smaller than I would of liked but for the price I cannot complain. half a workout on those arms too so win win.

Good piece of kit that does a great job of tamping down sub-base.

Does what it is supposed to do BUT, the blue paint come if from the rod and stick to cloths and gloves, very low quality paint. The black plastic cap is not fixed to the rod and came loose the first time I lifted the product. Very poor finish but does the job, 3 stars.
