Great Amp for a low price! With tube!
Great little amp! Tube preamp and 20w for this price is insane! Size is great for portability. Fits easily in a backpack with cables, so no crazy weighty head to lug around. I just use this for a 1x12 with a pedalboard, and have enough to play big venues no problem! Easily can power a 4x12 over a thrash drummer as well. I've tried! Only downside is no FX loop, but that is a feature of the Micro Dark, so something to look into before deciding on this. All and all, you really can't go wrong with this choice. Great tone, value, portability, and options make this a great amp for smaller venues, or home practice.

I wanted something that was a step above the calibre of budget practice amplifiers and easily transportable. The Good
In a nutshell, this thing is ridiculous considering the price and minuscule size. It may seem obvious, but this amp is not for you if you're not a fan of Orange or after an amp that does sparkly clean tones. I bought this as I was after something compact which was suitable for bedroom practice, as well as rehearsals. I wanted something that was a step above the calibre of budget practice amplifiers and easily transportable. The Good: - pretty authentic orange tones. The inclusion of a tube preamp helps with this. It's obviously not going to sound like a Rockaverb, but if you want the fundamentals, this is not bad at all. - loud, especially when paired with a 2X12 or 4X12 cabinet. I've used it through both and bigger speakers which help to bring out the character of the amp really well. If using a bigger cabinet, it can hold it's own in a rehearsal situation with a loud punk drummer and other guitarists. - runs quietly, doesn't get too hot. The Bad -there is a definite sweet spot with this amp. If you started going to extremes with the tone or gain controls, things can sound quite muddy. At lower volumes, it can have a tinny sound. I've found the sweet spot to be 12-2 o clock on the volume and gain knobs, with the tone at 12 0 clock. I find this is a quite a good 'base' sound that you can do a lot with. - I've had variable experiences with using it with pedals. You generally have to turn the volume up to full and the gain right down to get acceptable results, but even then it can be temperamental with overdrive/distortion pedals. - the headphone out is awful. Its scratchy, tiny and not worth using. There is obviously some sort of limiter that is messing around with the signal.

A little beauty!
This tiny amp is an absolute bargain. If you thought that classic British tones were out of reach because of cash or space constraints, then think again. Straight out of the box, this unfeasibly small amp just works. I've owned a few different modelling amps in the past and the Micro Terror blows them out of the water. I was initially a little worried that the amp may be too high gain and not produce the warmer clean tones I often use. I needn't have worried. However, the gain is definitely there if you need it, along with that classic British crunch. I play mostly blues and rock and this little beauty makes the best of my Stratocaster, Les Paul and P90 equipped Les Paul copy guitar. It's surprisingly versatile. As already mentioned, it is incredibly loud. It is also very well made, but is so small and light that care is needed when dealing with leads to make sure you don't pull it off its perch. I can't find a single thing to criticise this amplifier about. If your budget and space won't stretch too far but you need a serious amp, look no further. I don't gig, (too antisocial), but I reckon this amp could easily deal with smaller gigs if plugged into a larger speaker and it can apparently drive a 4x12 cabinet. Very highly recommended. Buy one!

Micro Terror
I have just taken delivery of this delightfully cute little [very little] Orange amp and its dedicated speaker cabinet It arrived very well packed and with all the leads and mains adaptor required [which is in itself refreshing as so many items have standard equipment treated as "extras"!] I plugged it all in and found that for such a teeny amp the sound is amazing. It would sound even fuller with a bigger speaker cab of course as it again amazingly pumps out 20 watts of power, but the dedicated one is absolutely fine for home use and if the volume was turned up [I haven't had it past 3-4 yet and it sounded good] would also be ok for small gigs I would think. It is very strudy with all metal construction and is really a miniature version of any other larger Orange amp. The speaker cab has reinforced corners and the famous Orange straw coloured cloth front All in all it makes for a very stylish set up with incredible volume and simple controls...what's not to like? A small tip here; If you register it online at Orange's website they will also give you an extra year's guarantee

Dangerous- junk
It is junk, it stopped working and now all i get is buzzing. The power cable comes out very easily. What a waste of money, i have for only 4 months, not worth the money, I would say do not buy it as it can be dangerous if the power cable comes out a lot. Its sparks from the back. I sent it back to the seller but they sent it back to me saying there was nothing wrong with it. This is clearly a lie at the power cable does come out very, very easily. It sounds ok when it works i just do not trust it. It is not safe.

Great low budget amp head for practice without using a speaker. Very small, light and portable. Love the sound of the preamp tube. The sound is different than my older 35 watt Orange solid state amp that also has a great tone. I use both on my Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars. Considering buying a speaker for the new Orange amp head. Love the sound of Orange amps.
