Good but bits missing
Overall a good book, covers wide range of sailing plans etc. There are tow key omissions in my book. First there is no mention of self tacking jibs, which (after some experience) have their uses but there are some downsides. The main missing item (as with all other books) no mention of how too reef under power. In some conditions it can be unsafe to turn into wind too reef as normal. This happened to me when the sea came up unexpectantly. There was not was to safely turn to wind while on a run. Fortunately I had already figured out my cars can be used under power. It was tricky but it worked ok.

A great review of sail trim BUT....
This is a basic review of how to trim sails but things like twist are not well covered. Various systems of reefing could be better explained as important details are omitted.More photos of real life details would help to impart greater understanding.

Concise and effective
I looked for something readable on this subject for quite some time; very little decent material on the internet. The book is concise but clear and useful.

You need this book.
The best book I've bought about getting the best performance from your sailing boat. Clear, well laid out. Easy to understand for a relative novice like me. Essential reading.

Clear and to the point
Very happy with this book. Clear text and diagrams help to explain concepts. My 14 year old daughter has also been reading it and has surprised me with what she has picked up from the book.

Fab book if you want to understand how to get the best out of sailing with the sails. Really easy reading and practical.
