A delicious and nutritious ingredient
Here’s what I love about these cacao nibs: these cacao nibs are certified organic by the Soil Association which gives me confidence in their quality. Knowing that they come from a trusted source and are non-GMO is important to me, especially when it comes to health and environmental impact. Packed with antioxidants, magnesium, calcium, and iron, these cacao nibs are a powerhouse of nutrients. They make for an excellent addition to my diet, supporting overall health and wellness. I appreciate that they are sugar-free and gluten-free, which aligns perfectly with my dietary preferences. One of the best features of these cacao nibs is their versatility. I’ve enjoyed adding them to various dishes—whether it’s sprinkling them on top of smoothies, incorporating them into baking, or mixing them into my frozen berries as a treat. They add a delightful crunch and rich chocolatey flavor without any added sweetness. I also love using them as a topping for ice cream, giving my desserts a healthy twist. The flavor is wonderfully rich and slightly bitter, which is exactly what I expect from high-quality cacao. The nibs have a satisfying crunch that adds an interesting texture to any dish. For those who enjoy the natural taste of chocolate.

I've tried a bunch... these are the best!
I eat raw cacoa at least twice a day, in a home-made trail mix and in protein shakes, so manage to crunch through plenty of bags of this stuff. I've tried pretty much every brand going, and for both price and taste, the Pink Sun brand is the overall best. When you open the bag, there's a distinct wine-like aroma - like a deep, rich glass of Merlot. You know how some wines are described as having 'chocolately notes'? That. It gives the cacoa pieces a really fresh, distinctive taste that I'd associate with higher quality beans. The price is also very good - I've paid as much as 50% more in the past for the same weight.

Wonderful quality and value
Fantastic product, I have made some seriously delicious chocolate with these nibs. Way better than the stuff in the shops. The nibs are also nice to graze on, with different hints of flavour. Brilliant value.

Excellent quality and superb value
These nibs are delicious. I mix them with cacao powder, yoghurt, vanilla essence and berries for a yummy low sugar dessert. The bag is huge and lasts for ages and the value is excellent.

Not for eating alone
I originally left a 1 star review due to the overwhelming bitterness. What comes through underneath the bitterness is an unpleasant astringent taste which I would expect to be removed through fermentation. I found that I can add these to porridge made with milk and it is possible to get them down.

Initially tasteless
For the first time ever, about a month or two ago, I purchased a small 400 g bag of (Naturale Bio brand) cocoa nibs. It was nothing short of a revelation. The crunchy, tasty bits of cocoa goodness added a welcome note of bitterness to offset the sweet, dried mango in my daily cold oats and nuts porridge breakfast. Finally, chocolaty flavor without the added sugar (which tends to give me migraines). When the bag was running out, I tried to purchase another one. But alas, it was no longer available (which is still the case at this time of writing). Hence, I searched for an alternative and opted for this one, based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, however, these cocoa nibs are nothing like the other brand I purchased. Pretty much tasteless and not nearly as crunchy. I tried to eat them two more times and could only detect a vague hint of cocoa during a single bite today. Not sure if I got a bad batch, but a product that is this low grade should never have made it past quality control. I'm sending this back.UPDATE 2019-03-28: Several days on, the much sought after cocoa flavor, bitter notes and crunch are back. While still not as tasteful as the other brand, there has been a definite improvement in both texture and flavor. Hence, I changed the headline from "Utterly tasteless" to "Initially tasteless" and increased the star rating from 1 to 3. I can only surmise that the top layer of the bag had gone stale. I started the return procedure yesterday, but am now having second thoughts. Perhaps the stale top layer was only the proverbial tip of the iceberg, however, and the worst is yet to come? A comparison with Sevenhills Wholefood Organic Raw Cacao Nibs (which should arrive on Friday) over the next few days will determine its fate.
