Are the dimensions of the clock accurate?

No the dimensions are not accurate. It is 36 x 42 not 40 x45 as advertised

It says plastic and metal is the outer casing plastic or metal please?

Plastic. I think the only metal part is the battery that you put in yourself.

Is the tick really loud?

No loud tick , very very light weight and cheap to feel but looks amazing on the wall so many comments about how it looks x
