Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Great cards, would recommend. - Really pleased with these. Clear design and lovely to hold. Very accurate so far. Review: Beautiful & Beginner Friendly. - This is my first ever tarot deck and I love it so so much! It’s great quality and the cards are so beautiful in person. Every time I use these cards I’m so happy, I feel like we’re working together well. I honestly don’t really know what I’m doing and was worried I wouldn’t be able to make sense of them, but I think I’m doing good and have had some great and interesting card pulls so far. I highly recommend them for a beginner like me! The cards are fairly sturdy, printed well, and come in a small cardboard box of about the same size. The guidebook that comes with it is small and made of paper like an instruction booklet you’d get with anything else. The text is tiny, however, and while not much of an issue for me, it will be difficult for others. It gives a basic, short overview of the cards and their meanings. I’d say if you really want a guidebook then purchase one separately alongside, for ease of reading and more information, or find another version of the Rider Waite that comes with a better one. Though I don’t think it’s too necessary to have one. Trust your intuition because the card meaning may not align with your interpretation, which is the more valid thing. A guide does not mean rules. Despite the guide not being wholly great, it is an inconsequential thing when compared to the beauty of this deck. You’re buying this for the cards and they are 100% worth it, in my opinion.

Beautiful cards on quality stock
I have been looking at various versions of the Rider-Waite-Smith cards for a while and I am so happy that I chose these. The colours are beautiful, so much nicer than they looked online. The cards are very high quality and shuffle easily. I would definitely recommend.

Not bad picture quality but could be better
If you’re new to tarot then this is the best deck to start with. The pictures are heaped with meaningful imagery, a lot of which provides really useful context when learning tarot and is often lost in other decks. As for this specific deck itself, the print misses a few of the original colours and details out of some of the more intricate pictures. Not a big deal but I’m sure there are better prints out there. The deck itself is good, sturdy and works well for me.

The Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck
Well, not much to add to the other reviews. This is simply the Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck. The 78-card deck is now almost certainly the most widely used in the world, and it remains as popular as ever. While the images are basic and simple (drawing is almost crude in some places), the details and backgrounds hold a wealth of symbolism (almost occult like, full of mystical meanings). I can almost agree with some people who are saying that those basic pictures and symbols make connection with one's subconscious mind. Personally I like that - the more basic cards, the better. The colours are not very bright and lively but then again, those cards are not just about lovely colours and I would say that this deck is also a good starting point for somebody like me - almost a complete beginner (the other set I have is from "Easy Tarot" by Josephine Ellershaw - which is also quite good as a starting point). But bear in mind that all of this is very personal and not very objective - as everybody has different preferences here, and searching for a perfect tarot deck could actually take long time in some cases. And as the Josephine Ellershaw was saying in her book, "your cards should provoke an instant inner response, regardless whether you understand it". And I think the Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck is doing exactly that (for me) - something is there in those cards, you don't exactly know what is it and you can really verbalise it, but the "feeling" is there for sure. About cards: The size of the cards: 12cm by 7cm (4.7" by 2.5"). I agree with some other reviews that the cards look slightly smudged and are very dark coloured - but this is not a negative point for me and doesn't bother me that much (it maybe for you though). The plus side is that the cards are actually quite thick and should last a long time. In my opinion this is a good buy for anybody interested in Tarot. The deck is well printed and has a good design, the booklet is minimal but functional. You would obviously need some good manual to read the cards properly, but the white one does its job. The cardboard box in which the deck is contained is weak though, you will need a more rigid box in the long run, or you will need more care when transporting it.

Overall the deck is quite beautiful. There was some interesting cards in the deck, and some cards I didn’t exactly enjoy. In the second large photo, with the magician in the top left, where are the cards that I didn’t exactly enjoy. Much of the shading was too dark for the pictures, this was a reoccurring theme in the suit of pentacles. And even on some more lighthearted cards, the depiction was very dark and gloomy. This might be an issue for somebody who doesn’t know the rider Waite Smith pictures very well, but as I do it’s really not an issue for me, it’s just a little annoying. The first pictures with the full on the top left, we’re cards that I really did enjoy. Whether it was the shading on the cards, or the hombre background. My favorites were probably the aces of suits, as they were all just gorgeous and had a lot of great imagery. I mainly bought this deck for the colors used and immediately fell in love with his personality as soon as I laid my hands on it, the deck has a very bright bubbly and optimistic energy. The back of the cards is also something I do enjoy. I did not want a jack with the “picnic table print” on the back, as I wanted something more unique and I think I got just that. The booklet that comes with the cards is extremely helpful, if you read it. A lot of information and tips are stored in the little book and it looks beautiful on the outside. I will warn you, the book is quite challenging to read. The font of the text hard on my eyes, and the text is quite small. I think it does include a lot of valuable tips and tricks and some cool numerology. It does also give you definitions of each card and a description of the imagery, although this might not be very helpful as it’s hard to locate in the book. So I would recommend making the book your own by highlighting and bookmarking what you need. The material of the car to some thing I also do you enjoy. I don’t know exactly how to explain it but I did include a video of myself shuffling the cards. I hope that would help some of you understand the texture as it’s quite unique not not something I felt too much before. Another thing is the matte finish of the cards, they do quite easily slide around well holding them and trying to shuffle. But I wouldn’t really expect anything else from the matte finish of the cards. I would honestly prefer this way more than cards that are really shiny and stick together, so I’m perfectly OK with it. For those of you who still stick around, I am going to go more in depth with the individual cards pictured in the review. In the first set of cards with the cards I really like, we can talk about the six of swords. I really love the shading on this one as well as the nine of swords. I just think it’s a really great take on it. For the page of swords, I love the clouds and how they are textured. And the knight of cups was something thing I found truly interesting, with a white background this could some symbolize the purity and loving emotion of the card. As this is the only card in the deck with a completely white background, I was confused at first. But now looking in the card and reviewing it’s definition it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Next I’ll talk about some of the features I didn’t like in some of the card, in the suit of pentacles you can see a lot of the image he is quite dark and not very light even and more lighthearted cards. The ternal pentacles, which is supposed to represent abundance, security, and wealth, has a eerie vibe with all the dark shadows in the picture. Same thing with the lovers card, it feels like a dark presence is bringing these two people together. The rest of the cards were just hard to tell a part, as a lot of the imagery was kind of mushed together with the lack of discernment. I do still really love the cards but if course they all have some downsides.
