Screeching Halt Acoustic Guitar Soundhole Cover - Acoustic Guitar Accessories - Eliminates Feedback

I bought this to try to control the howling feedback I was getting when putting my acoustic guitar through my new Blackstar amp. The feedback was making the guitar almost unuseable, so I thought I'd try this. I'm glad to say that it's quite effective. Some reviews say it doesn't mute the guitar, but it isn't meant to. It has definitely improved the guitar's useability, I can use it at a sensible volume with no problem. I used it for a gig with the guitar going directly into the desk and it was excellent, no feedback at all. It's a perfect fit in my Gibson J100, my friend uses one on a Takamine, so it seems fairly versatile. I'm more impressed than I expected to be with this cheap little gadget, it does pretty much what it says on the tin, and all for the price of a chip supper!

Well impressed ! I live in a semi detached and didn’t want to annoy the neighbours with my heavy strumming. This is perfect! Reduces the noise but still sounds perfect. Also a perfect fit for the GS mini ! Would recommend

Very effective at doing what it does. A little awkward at fitting but, once on board, a handy little addition to making life better on stage with others kit around and sensitive amps.

Fit is perfect for the Harley Benton GS travel.

My guitar has a slightly smaller than standard sound hole (which is about 100 mm) - so this was too big to fit without risking damage to the guitar. The solution is the file down the edge of the cover - which is quite thick so you get plenty of adjustment room. I don't have a file so I used sandpaper which did the job. Took about an hour to get a good fit. Now fits perfectly and completely eliminates feedback when playing at gigs. Nice quality and rubber is quite soft so it will not damage the finish on your guitar.

It's good, does the job.. For one of my acoustics! I fits one of my acoustics and doesn't fit the other two, it's too big! It's fine with my mini jumbo acoustic but not with my folk guitar or my Grand auditorium! A little disappointed..

It does it's job, very snug and secure fit with a decent finish. Sadly, mine came packaged stapled to a cardboard backing, leaving a hole in each side of the front of the item. PW did previously ship the item in a clear bag, with the cardboard holding the bag closed at the top, but they have changed this packaging for some reason. In any case, the product does a great job of reducing feedback, and reducing the volume for bedroom practice etc.

ich benutze den Einsatz, wenn ich meine Akustikgitarren am Looper verwende oder über den Yamaha THR 10 spiele. Es ist einfacher das eingebaute Pickup zu verwenden als ein Mikrofon auszurichten und auszusteuern. Das mag ein Profi anders sehen, aber ich möchte Musik machen und mich nicht stundenlang mit Feintuning beschäftigen. Die heimischen Aufnahmen mit akustischen Gitarren plus Gesang werden erheblich vereinfacht. Der Einsatz passt auf alle meine Akustikgitarren (Aria, Takamine, Hohner, Ibanez, Fender). Bei den klassischen ist es schon recht eng (Hohner, Ibanez), aber es geht. Natürlich ist es ein wenig fummelig, den Einsatz unter die Saiten zu schieben, aber es geht. Der Einsatz ist ja so teuer nicht und da kann man sich ja zwei oder drei kaufen und sie dauerhaft installieren. So habe ich das gemacht. Wenn ich dann mal einen Auftritt in der Royal Albert Hall haben sollte, dann leihe ich mir halt eine Gitarre von Bruce Springsteens Frau. ;-) Klare Empfehlung.
