Better than cafe matcha
Was unsure when I bought it but it is incredible. Is a lot better than many store bought ones and the quality is 10/10. Appearance wise when in water, it's a darkish green and doesn't taste bitter either in lattes, more so tastes like matcha should. Really good matcha, definitely value for money.

Great Energy Boost with mild, gentle flavour
I use PureChimp Matcha for tea, and I love it! It gives me a gentle energy boost without the jitters that coffee can give, and the slightly sweet aftertaste makes it really enjoyable. Smooth, easy to mix and has a mild, gentle flavour with no bitterness. I highly recommend for anyone who wants a coffee alternative with health benefits 👌🏾

Much better than coffee, great for cooking!
I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend who loves tea almost as much as I do. After trying the standard 'tea' and 'latte' combinations we decided to experiment with food. So far we have made white chocolate and cashew nut cups, milk chocolate and matcha buttercups, matcha lassi (an indian yoghurt drink) and matcha cupcakes. All have been excellent, the flavour of PureChimp really comes through in all food combinations and the colour is a wonderful deep green. We are hoping to try out some matcha pancakes and Ice creams next and I expect they will turn out just as tasty as the rest. This tea is somewhat bitter as expected but it is not unpleasant. Mixed in water with a little honey is delicious and it also pairs well with almond milk for those who are lactose intolerant. The energy lift with this matcha is just as good, if not better than a morning coffee with none of the downside of the jitters when coming down or any sudden crash. I hate mornings and usually have to have two cups of coffee before I can function without growling at anyone who asks me a question but after just one small cup of matcha I was up and ready to go within minutes.

Really good and didn’t taste bitter
After reading reviews of all different types of matcha I opted for this version one and so glad I did, was fed up of pay £6 odd a time. I’d even go to say this tastes better, I’ve had it with the strawberry syrup off here. Personal choice was with coconut milk and but normal milk froths better, Now I need a bigger glass.

Awesome and delicious
Prior to the Covid 19 lockdown in the uk my friend and I would go to the local coffee shop. I would drink golden milk (a turmeric latte) and my friend a match latte. After 5 weeks of lockdown I got a pang for the golden milk, started making my own and then wondered if I could make my own matcha latte too. After doing some research I opted for this, said was ceremonial, was tested for lead, was from Japan, was a nice bright green colour, was in my price bracket and to be fair I like the branding. When it arrived I remembered that I don’t drink caffeine usually so saved my first latte for the morning. I mixed 1 tsp with half a cup of almond milk, a little vanilla and a little maple syrup, whisked and topped up with warm, not boiling water and boy was it tasty. Smooth and not grainy at all, I drank every drop, no mess at the bottom of the cup. However be warned if you don’t drink caffeine, I could really tell that I’d had this. I wished that I was going for a run instead of sitting at my desk! On a video call I had to confess to my boss that I’d had it as I felt the caffeine rush lol. On reflection, this seems a great quality product that I will only be having once a day, first thing in the morning! I’ll let you all know if I get to sleep tonight. May adjust to half a tsp, but did like the taste of 1 tsp

A tasty enough alternative, but you get what you pay for.
Kintea is the first matcha I have tried which is around double the price, so I decided to see if this was comparable. That said please bear in mind my review is based on this so a little biased as I love Kintea. Pros- A lot cheaper as already stated Flavour is pretty good, but probably better for baking/cooking with then as a drink. Cons- You get what you pay for, the colour is definitely more dull than kintea and I assume other more expensive brands. It's starts pretty vibrant in the jar but once made up, turns dull quite quickly . Lack of foam. The foam disintegrates soon after whisking. This doesn't affect the flavour, but the texture is less pleasing. Aftertaste- I make my matcha into a latte with caramel flavoured stevia and some vanilla extract, but this matcha has a very slight bitter aftertaste. It wasn't bad enough to ruin the taste while drinking it, I feel that my flavourings masked it, but it was more noticeable once I'd finished the drink. Overall- definitely recommend if you're on a budget or want matcha to bake with. But if you are looking for a really vibrant, foamy, delicate tasting matcha, this probably isn't the one for you.

Great stuff, really fresh and good value for monney
Absolutely LOVE this tea! I'm already onto my second jar of this stuff. So I bought this as I heard that green tea/match is supposed to help with acne. I've tried teabags from supermarkets but I thought that I might get better results if I use the actual matcha powder. To be honest, I don't think it has made that much difference to my skin as I still get cystic acne on my chin every month. But I normally have 2/3 cups of this green tea every day and I've noticed that my appetite has decreased. Especially in the morning, I drink a cup of this on an empty stomach and I find I'm not so hungry and end up eating a smaller breakfast or late breakfast. So maybe it has helped me to control my appetite as I've noticed a tiny bit of weightloss. Also, my energy levels are better! I'm not drinking as much coffee, but still have a cup every now and then. Matcha/Green tea powder does contain a small amount of caffeine in it but not as much as coffee. I feel a lot "healthier" drinking this green tea stuff than having coffee. Final comment: the taste of this matcha powder is really good. Not bitter at all and tastes fresh. I might try the lemon and green tea powder next time. But I'm pretty happy with this flavour and will be buying again once I've finished my second jar!

I have tried at least 7 different Matcha manufacturers. The one I am currently drinking has been the best so far (well duh!). However, I really like this one too. First of all, your getting 50 grams of ceremonial matcha at a fantastic price, in a glass jar, Outstanding! Comparing the taste of the one I have been drinking to Pure Chimp, I would say the Pure Chimp has a lighter taste yet still has that grassy flavor without any bitterness. When prepared according to the instructions on the jar (1/2 level teaspoon) , the claim is that it tastes like a blend of black tea and green tea, which it does. But that’s not good for me since I don’t like brown or black tea. When I go my measure, (1/2 rounded teaspoon) it seem the black tea taste is gone, weird. Conclusion: 50 grams of ceremonial matcha at this price, it’s a no brainer. For my other matcha I’m paying $36 for 60 grams, so this is a great deal! If this is your first try at drinking matcha, this is a great choice!
