For many years I have steamed my vegetables in order to preserve their nutrient content. I purchased this after our stainless steel saucepan style steamer came to the end of its life. It is well made and can comfortably cook a variety of foods for a family of four. I only ever steam vegetables by the way. It quickly heats up in no time, much, much quicker than on a hob. The timer is a simple dial that you turn to the desired time you intend to cook. Just be mindful of how much the water level goes down whilst steaming, though this can be carefully topped up via the pouring spout on the side throughout using a jug. Also be very aware of the steam vents on the lid as getting too close could cause a nasty scald to exposed skin. I generally give that area a wide berth. Unfortunately, the bottom basket in which I always cook my carrots has discoloured. Obviously the juice content from the carrots has leached out and made its way into the plastic under the extreme heat. No amount of cleaning or soaking seems to eradicate this. A slight shame but nothing to worry about really. Overall a great steamer that serves us well!!

When you factor in labour and transport costs its hard to imagine how you get so much for the price. Using a pan would take ages for the water to boil. Now the top of the cooker is redundant, and with an air fryer meals taste better and quicker.
