Command 17206-ES Large Picture Hanging Strips, Pack of 4, White

I must admit I have never seen these before and bought some out of curiosity after reading many positive reviews. On the face of it they looked very much like Velcro strips but actually they have lots of little plastic pins with heads arranged in such a way that they lock into each other when pressed together. As a result you only get one type of strip in the packet and not a pair like hook and loop/Vecro. They also have a bendy foam strip on one end that's used to easily pull the strips apart from each other. They actually don't feel overly sticky/tacky but this means that the 'drag' potential is much lower with these strips and their surface area strength is going to be quite high, so, they are more likely to stay where you put them. Apparently they can be removed from paint without causing any damage. I'm inclined to believe this but haven't left any of the them on a painted surface for long enough to verify these claims. They are available in various sizes and also available in black which wasn't obvious when I purchased my first pack. You so get several more strips in the Medium size strips pack (20x) compared to only 8 in the Large size strips pack. There difference in size between the strips themselves is not that significant though. I also managed to use these to attach a Leap Motion controller to a HTC Vive Pro and was able to remove the strips without leaving any tacky residue on either. Definitely not what these strips are designed for but proves they have other potential uses outside of mounting pictures to walls! I used these to put up 2 large canvas prints (120cm x 60cm) in my flat. You only need to use 2 pairs of strips per picture, one strip in each of the top corners. The hold is very strong, you can easily peel off the velcro and realign if not straight, and removal of the strips from the wall at the end using the pull to break the adhesive works perfectly, no damage to the walls at all!

I’ve given these 4 stars because I didn’t think the instructions were very good. In the end I went on YouTube and found a video. But physically product itself is great. I have used them to put up pictures and my Ring Alarm system base station. Worked really well, no hammer or nails needed. Hardest thing is making sure you have a good flat service on whatever you’re trying to hang up. I’ll be ordering more. You can use them for a lot of different things.

These Command strips are great for hanging pictures without worrying about nails or damage to the walls. They hold frames securely and are easy to remove when needed. I like that the black colour blends well with dark frames, and the process is quick and hassle-free. Overall, they’re a simple, reliable solution for decorating without leaving marks.

I bought these as I wanted to hang a large A1 poster on my wall, which was framed. The strips state that there is a max weight for these of around 7kg and a max size which was a lot smaller than my A1 frame so I was a bit worried it might fall off the wall. The frame is lightweight at around 2kg so perhaps this helped somewhat. You do need to make sure you read the instructions, but it’s so simple. You get 8 in each pack, making 4 pairs. You attach the strips together Velcro to Velcro and then place them on your frame. You’re advised to place two at the top and then the other two 2/3 of the way down. I didn’t do this as my picture was horizontal, so I placed my strips 2 on the top, 2 on the bottom. You peel off the backing strips and stick these to the back of the frame. The instructions don’t mention how tricky it is to make sure that your picture is aligned properly on the wall, especially when you have a large, heavy, cumbersome frame. Once you peel the backing off the strips, that’s it, they will attach to the wall, so I reckon it’s a two person job, one to check it’s level and one to place the picture on the wall. You also need to make sure that the wall is clean and level. Three of my strips attached to the wall perfectly, but the fourth came right off because the plaster on that bit was a bit bumpy, which is annoying. But I think it’s a testament to the strips strength that my picture is hanging perfectly with only three strips! Once the picture is in place on the wall, you hold it in place for a minute. Then you peel the picture off and leave it for an hour to set. As I placed my strips on horizontally, I had to pull the picture from left to right as opposed to up to detach it, and boy is it on good and tight. I’m so impressed, but even more impressed with myself that I managed to stick an awkward A1 frame to the wall on my own, and I managed to get it level! These are supposed to come off clean, I’ve not tried yet. But part of me thought these were reusable which I don’t think they are. Overall I’m so happy and can’t wait to get other products like the hooks and smaller picture strips which will probably be a lot easier to hang.

I got these for hanging an acrylic mirror in the bathroom. I confess to having to watch the How-to videos, but then they were really easy to use! I bought them more than anything in the hope that should the mirror have to come down, the process wouldn't wreck the paint on the wall because looking at the videos, they should peel cleanly away without leaving any damage. I'll soon find out anyway because my husband doesn't like the mirror and a new one is on the way so watch this space! LOL!

Ive used these before and thought they were great, so considered that in the overall rating. However this pack, it was a nightmare getting the backing paper off the stickers - it came off in bits and the pads were nowhere near as sticky as others I’ve used. The result being they didn’t adhere to the wall at all.

It worked great, however have not tried removing from the wall so I cannot judge that. It’s sticky and very cheap so good value for money and it’s honestly just a good buy! It holds well and has good strength! I would buy again if needed!
