Fantastic product
I was nervous of switching from the product I had been using for more than 2 years but I am very glad I did. Tints of Nature smells pleasant (it has no chemical odour as my old brand did) and was easy to apply. All my grey is covered perfectly and my hair is in good condition. I like the cap that covers your hair during the colouring process as there is no danger of drips (my old brand dripped messily, which is why I gave up on it in the end). After reading the Tints of Nature website's tips for covering grey, I used a hairdryer to warm my hair for a couple of minutes while I had the cap on, and I left the product on for 40 minutes before rinsing. I also avoided washing my hair the following day. Ten days later, the colour hasn't faded at all so I feel confident that I won't need to colour it again until the roots show in 4-6 weeks. (I'll edit this review if it does fade in the meantime.) The only thing I find odd about this product is the colour description of Dark Blonde. I consider I have dark brown hair but my previous John Frieda colour was 6N (though described as Light Natural Brown) so I chose the Tints of Nature 6N shade. It's perfect. I will definitely continue using Tints of Nature from now on.

A great colourant- just beware of the shade you choose.
I really like tints of nature colours. They contain fewer chemicals, do not smell awful and are a lot gentler on my hair. I purchased this as my second colour, after initially purchasing a medium brown. The medium brown took incredibly well and was very dark, almost comparable to the darkest brown shades I previously bought of other colours. It took 2 hours of wrapping my hair in a concoction of ground up vitamin c tablets and baby shampoo to lift it to a desirable shade. I decided to try this colour and it has coloured my hair a mid brown, with less red and more yellowy blonde colouring to it- I am far more pleased with the result. I'd highly recommend doing a strand test or buying a couple of shades lighter than your desired colour to begin with (worst case scenario the vit c and baby shampoo trick did work- wrap your head in cling film). It doesn't sting, stink or make my eyes water and although it takes a little longer to colour (you need to wash your hair first with a cleansing shampoo they provide) the results leave me feeling happy. Less chemicals= happy me. Note- the photo shows the initial colour and after 2 hours of vitamin c to lift the colour

Excellent coverage, natural and chemical free
I have been buying this product for some time. I have an auto-immune thyroid condition and it has been well known for sometime now that chemical hair dyes can be very detrimential to your health. Chemicals sit on the scalp and drain down into the thyroid gland. Therefore, I always choose a hair tint with no Resorcinol, ammonia and parabens. Tints of Nature is great, it covers the grey, is long lasting and the colour doesn't build up even though its permanent, it seems to naturally fade. My mum is my hairdresser and she uses it too and is very happy with the coverage. Hair feels soft and looks shiny after application. I would recommend this product, the price is good too.

... and this was the first I tried and I love it. It's the perfect shade for me
I read A LOT of reviews before changing to natural hair dye but I was determined and this was the first I tried and I love it. It's the perfect shade for me. I don't mind the initial shampoo either, most reviews I read were disappointed it made the hair coarse but I just found it really CLEANED the hair so as the dye takes better to the hair. It doesn't make the hair tangled and doesn't cause knots so once combed the dye is easy to get through the hair again. I have short, very fine hair so I never use the whole bottle but I'm really impressed. The smell is strange the first time you use as it's a natural smell rather than of chemicals but i'd rather that than burning my scalp (which I have actually done with scars to prove before with the chemical hair dyes). It's just a different product and you can't expect the same as what you get with the chemical dyes. I also think it makes my hair softer and silky after I've dyed it. Really impressed and so were my family. It lasts around 3-4 weeks but I don't find that my roots are massively showing but rather that the whole colour fades more naturally. Happy to then dye my hair say every 4-6 weeks. The price is more expensive than say some of the chemical ones but I'm actually fine with that when I know it's better for my hair and skin.

Not so natural
This is an easy dye to use. It has great colour and leaves the hair looking great. However and this is a big but, so I bought this as I am allergic to standard hair dyes and low and behold I am even more allergic to this one. So please do a patch test before applying.

I recomend
It covers gray hair well. My hair is shiny and alive after the dye. After 2 weeks of washing my hair, the color has not washed off. I am satisfied. I will buy more.

not great coverage of you have alot of grey
This is the best hair dye. I had my hair done in a salon that turned out with to much red brassy tones yuck! This dye got rid of it all its now a nice brown no red. The best is that it makes my hair so silky. Beware it does have chemicals in it I could smell it but it's not as bad as some I have tried before though.

I thought I would have to give up coloring my hair because I was having terrible reaction with scalp burning at salons and with over the counter brands. I tried Garnier Olia oil powered hair color and found color retention very poor. As a last resort I researched less toxic brands and found several at health food stores. However I was not satisfied with color results and found the color did not last well. Then I found Tints of Nature online out of UK. Website research info was extensive describing effort to create a product with the least toxicity. They have a large color selection and incorporate a line for gray hair that has a color number followed by the letter N. I read reviews and paid particular attention warning to select color lighter than I would normally select. Glad I did. I had medium brown hair (before gray). I ordered 6N dark blond and it is medium brown. To avoid dark build up I alternate with 7N medium blonde. I have been using for for almost four years and have the best color and conditioned hair since I started coloring. Their colors are mixable so you can tweek colors. I don't mind taking time to divide the solutions so I will frequently use a half bottle of 6N on roots and 7N on the rest. As long as the remainder has not been mixed it can be recapped and used the following month. The solution is gel like and does not drip. The wait time is up to 40 minutes for gray. Packaging is nice and similar to over the counter products. Best of all for me no burning! The color lasts but I do not shampoo unless necessary. Instead I condition and rinse daily. Helps me control curly hair. The color is fine for three weeks and I can stretch to 4 but then roots start to show. I have purchased for as low as $13 dollars but usually around $15. My hair is one length, full and just above the shoulder and one bottle covers well. Use a paint brush to get everything out of bottom of bottle or you can tap it out. Box includes pre shampoo and post shampoo and conditioner. So happy I found a product that is less harmful and still gives me great color.

I've had every color hair from platinum blond to redhead. Eventually, I grew to like my natural hair color - medium brunette and then I started to lose my color due to age - it happens to the best of us! The closest shade to my natural hair is between light and medium brown. The Tints of Nature 5N, Natural Light Brown, is the closest shade to my original hair color. The things I love most about Tints of Nature hair color is that it is so gentle on my hair, which gives it a 100% natural appearance. The reason it is so gentle on my hair, and makes it even healthier, is that it has NO ammonia, NO Propylene Glycol, No parabens (these are used as preservatives in other products) which are used in other products, so you don't have that "dried-out" frizzy hair appearance. It looks so natural and soft, instead. It's even "vegetarian and vegan friendly" so no living thing has been caged, killed, the ingredients are just harvested in a garden. It's also readily available both in my local supermarket and on Amazon. If you order it from Amazon, it takes a while for it to be delivered, so place your order well in advance.
