RocwooD Chainsaw/Brushcutter Safety Helmet c/w Chin Strap Pro

I am just so impressed with this hard hat and fittings. For the cost they are sensational. I simply cannot tell you what amazing quality and value they represent. They are 10*/10. I find the adjustable hat very comfortable and snug and at no time does it feel like it will fall off. The ear defenders are so perfect they could not be improved on. They fit like a dream and sound is truly minimized with no leaks-in whilst working and moving. The mesh visor is perfect for chainsaw work as it doesn't mist up from hot breath in cold weather and protects the eyes from the odd flying wood chip. - If there is any downside, it is in trying to work out how to put the ensemble together properly. I have read some of the other reviewers comments and laughed out loud because from their complaints, I could tell they got it horribly wrong! Get it right and this outfit is the buy of the century, believe me. I have worn safety kit for decades and this is a fantastic set-up. Highly recommended. p.s. I didn't bother to fit the chin strap and reckon it is probably the least good bit of the outfit. Buy this without another thought, but work out how to assemble it properly. You have to fold some of the plastic fittings before sliding them in, and the ear defenders slide in on the outside of the helmet, not from the inside!!! 10*/10. Hope this helps

I was originally intending to buy a set of ear defenders, but saw this and bought it thinking that for the price it wouldn't be up to much and all I wanted it was for the ear defenders. The hardest part for me was assembling it, as the instructions aren't very good. I resorted to looking at the picture here on Amazon. So far as quality is concerned, I'm not sure why others are complaining so much. They are happy to pay peanuts, but expect professional forestry equipment. I bought mine at the same time as one of those petrol multi-tools which has a strimmer, brush cutter, hedge trimmer and chainsaw, because I wanted to protect my ears. I've never really bothered protecting my eyes or head before, but I have to say that this is a very good product for what it does and for what it is aimed at i.e. gardeners who want some protection. So far I've used it over a period of three days and I haven't had any issues. Yes, the ear defenders don't appear to have the ability to sit out, but I just turn them round onto the hat. The visor is very effective especially when using the brush cutter and the ear defenders work a treat. I haven't used the chin strap as I just adjust the head strap, and don't have an issue. I would recommend this to anyone who uses any sort of petrol tool, if only for that added bit of protection. It isn't going to break the bank, but it will offer you at least some degree of protection.

Likes: good quality, came assembled except defenders. Best part for me is head adjustment and comfortable defenders. Dislikes: Chin strap was missing but seller told me the new model has none so web advert needs correction. Seller promised to send me “in the post” but waiting for 3 days. Anyway I am happy and found chin strap is not necessary and very good and comfortable. Only downside is no ventilation holes esp. present hot weather but not a big issue. Recommend. Update: chinstrap did arrive. Good service from seller. Has been using it over 3 weeks. Very happy.

I bought this as I purchased a Parker PGBC-520 strimmer also from Amazon and I'm so glad that I did. I was clearing some waste land in the water-side pub garden which I look after when I struck a pebble hidden in the undergrowth. This was propelled at great speed and struck the mesh visor of the helmet directly in front of my eye and leaving a small dent in the mesh. Had I not been wearing the helmet I shudder to think what the outcome could had been. The helmet is very comfortable and cool to wear and the ear protection goes a long way to make a noisy job a lot more bearable. I seldom use the chinstrap and for most of the time it's parked up over the peak of the helmet but at least it's there if and when I need it. Would I recommend this item? YES YES YES I'd never use a strimmer/brush-cutter or the like without it and that goes for my chainsaw too. Simply essential...

For its' price point this is a pretty good protective helmet. I run my own small part-time gardening business and trim several hedges about four times a year, so I didn't need the high-end versions of this. I've cut several high hedges now with my extending hedge trimmer and everything works as it should. I've had quite a bit of debris hit the helmet and the face guard and both work fine. The ear protectors fit nicely, are adjustable and do the job. Take some time when you first get the helmet playing with the ear protectors as the can be a bit fiddly. Once you've got them in the right place they work fine. I dispensed with the flimsy chin strap because (1) it was annoying and (2) the rear tightening nut works so well you don't really need it. I would certainly recommend this for the amateur gardener or for light / medium users.

A fraction of the price of the make I have been using (which cost nearly £40 and I get the privelege of advertising h*******a!), but actually a more user-friendly product. I love the easily adjustable band that goes around the back of your head - much better than mucking about with something inside the hat first, then finding out it still doesn't quite fit... It's a good buy, although there are a couple of things that SDG could improve upon, even if it means charging a wee bit more: 1. The ear defenders don't always stay snug to the ears, but I tend to wear ear plugs too so I can live with that. 2. The visor is really good BUT could be improved by a matte finish, rather than a shiny one, as there is a lot of glare when working in sunlight (trees are not always in the woods!)

La pantalla y la protección auditiva cumplen muy bien su función. Contra impactos en la cabeza aún no puedo valorar, y espero que siga así. Es ligero, cómodo y se adapta bien. Lo uso con motosierra y con desbrozadora. Muy buena compra a buen precio

La cosa che mi é piaciuta di più é il prezzo e non ho riscontrato nessun difetto. Grazie al sistema di regolazione restano ben sicuri in testa, staffe staffine staffette anche se leggere sembrano resistere bene anche se maltrattati Ottimo oggetto, ottimo prezzo, ottimo affare. Consigliatissimo
