I've always used just regular house scissors in my toolbox and so far they've just been acceptable. When I found these I bought them thinking they would be better than what I had and they are very nice set of scissors. They cut well. They're very sharp and a great value for the cost. I bought another pair because I was so pleased with the performance of the first pair.

I was tired of the discount scissors with handles too small for my hands, so I got these. They’re roomy, very durable & can cut many different materials. If you have small hands, they may be too big for you. But these are excellent scissors.

For the hands of a large man or woman! Great, sturdy, sharp scissors, but way too big for me. It takes both hands to really open all the way. My husband is going to include them in a tool kit! Still shopping.

The particular Fiskars model shears with the open-top-handle is really GREAT! I compared it against one of Fiskars' other models (selling out of the same Amazon listing) with fully closed loops for both the top and bottom of the handle, and this one is quite superior, providing more leverage while cutting, therefore it's easier on your hand and muscles, AND more effective at cutting. Plus, the blades are SHARP, and strong. The other Fiskars model wasn't bad at all, it was quite good, it's just that this one is significantly better; and its greater ease of cutting is quite noticeable and comes in handy when cutting cardboard boxes, as I do (from Amazon deliveries!). This design with the open top handle and the wide-loop bottom handle (the latter allows more fingers to hold it) not only provides more cutting leverage, but allows you to get whatever material you're cutting out of your way as you cut further and further into it. I also compared this item with yet another set of shears, that one purchased at Home Depot (made by Wiss), but it was definitely a nice set of shears that did a good job. It's just that this Fiskars model clearly does a better job-- it cuts better, cuts thicker materials, and is much easier to cut with, with more leverage, therefore easier on your hand. I don't know how long these Fiskars will last, what with the open, uncovered spring that I wonder if it might become detached, but I bought three of these-- two more after being so pleased with the first one-- and they all three work equally great. By the way, there is a little plastic piece at the bottom of the handle that locks the two-piece handle together so that the blades stay together when stored. (I can see where that lock could easily become undone, however, but so far, that hasn't happened to me.) This is really a phenomenal product, and I can not only cut through thick cardboard boxes with it (I much prefer using this to a box cutter), I can also cut through double-thickness of those boxes when necessary; though there is a bit more difficulty then. I highly recommend this product for its intended uses. And don't let the unusual look of the handle scare you away-- it's actually one of the great features on this set of shears. (By the way, I was drawn to look at Fiskars shears in the first place by reading some other reviewer's recommendation for them!!-- although, of all places, it was in an Amazon review of a set of screwdrivers, where the reviewer was commenting how difficult it was to open that package of screwdrivers with all of the clear plastic glued to cardboard, but that these Fiskars shears made it a lot easier! Reading that screwdriver set review resulted in my buying three pairs of these Fiskars shears!)

Great shears! These shears cut through the empty peanut butter jar easily. And that’s why I bought these shears. So no wild animals would get their heads stuck in an empty peanut butter jar. The shears are sturdy, and seem to be very well made. The shears are very sharp.

La lame est très qualitative, sans aucun jeu, mais mériterait d'être un poil plus longue. En revanche, le plastique du manche est un peu léger, j'aurais préféré quelque chose de plus rigide et solide. Egalement, il aurait fallu que la lame aille jusqu'en bas du manche pour permettre d'avoir plus de levier lors des coupes difficiles.

I keep these in my garage and use them for cutting through all kinds of things from cardboard to cables. They work really well and feel very sturdy.

Perfect for cutting tough stuff like fronds from palm trees and yuccas. Good product - works well.

Use them in the workshop to cut most everything. Liked them so much I bought another pair for the 4WD. They cut extremely well. A solid unit.
