This is what's uses in hospitals to raise people up when they have slid down in a bed. It works very well and can be left in the bed. It takes two people to use it, as one has to be on the opposite side. This works perfectly

There are small anti-skid bumps on the slide that goes to the bed. It keeps it from moving up and down the bed easily. This makes it harder to move a large person with this item. I would have returned it before using it if I had realized this feature was there. Now, I am stuck with something that isn't as advertised.
