Excellent stuff, a little goes a long way.
Never used this stuff or any shave cream sold in a tub before. Tried it for the first time this evening and it's excellent stuff. Probably the best shave I've had using the same brush and razor I was already using. I was also surprised how little is needed to achieve a good lather particularly as I live in an area with very hard water. The only downside is having something with a viking logo in my bathroom, it's a bit 2005.. weirdly the logo also shows a huge beard which is the exact opposite of what the product is for. However this stuff is so good I can totally overlook that. At some point ol probably sand and polish the logo off the lid. The container is good quality heavy plastic and even has an inner lid anyway. Maybe they could change their logo and market their excellent product at men who wear socks with their shoes. I'd definitely still recommend the product despite the logo. Still amazed at how little it takes to get a good shave.

Good product
First time I’ve bought this shaving soap. Despite seeming a little softer than other products I’ve used it seems to be much longer lasting. It’s also very effective - what’s not to like?

Best I've tried
In over 60 years of shaving this is the best shaving creme ive tried, a small amount gives a rich creamy soap for a very smooth shave, nice smell thats not too strong and at a good price

Shave cream
Why does Amazon bombard with requests for reviews on products that were delivered hours earlier. I have no idea what this product is like, I haven’t had a shave in recent hours. It does smell nice though.

Pure Valhalla!
Product has distinctive packaging and container with two lids (inner lid I guess to prevent product from spilling when opening outer lid. In addition a free sticker size of lid is provided as with many products these days, advertising I suppose, but a nice gesture all the same. The product is quite gloopy, not solid like other creams I’ve used, but once on the shaving brush and applied it provides a good long term lather constituency with no need to reapply resulting in a good clean shave. As I am big fan of the sandalwood scent this RV shaving cream is a must, only thing I would criticise about it is that the scent could be stronger (for me at least). I will probably buy this product again as it is a reasonable priced.

Best one I've used.
Best one I've used. Little goes a long way, lathers up fast. I bought a 2nd tub. Should last a long time.

Just got this, perfect timing for a shave. creamy great!. i used a little too much because it was just opened, and I kinda brushed a little off the lid. so of course I had to lather up like three times using it with my DE shaver. I love it, its my new fav. I used Shaving soaps more, but this was just too good. I highly recommend. Liked the peppermint and stuff too, helped with the burn, tho I still use an after shave. I liked this. you need only a teeny bit on the brush and you get a great lathering. oh, and my face has a absolute great shave, smooth as silk. im still touching my own face some because of it.

This is outstanding shaving cream. Smells good, provides a smooth surface on my skin. Firms up the whiskers.

Was a little disappointed with the scent of this. Thought the lather was pretty good but strangely the shave was just okay. Was hoping for a smoother shave. That might be in part to do with me just finishing Tabac tho. Rich lather, scent and smooth shave. On the plus side, this is much cheaper than Tabac. Worth it? On the whole, yes, if money is the most important thing!

This lathers up well with a wet shaving brush and I use this in the shower with my safety razor. I enjoy the smell and just wish it would last longer on the skin than just a few minutes. No complaints about this and it gives a good shave. Would buy again.

I've been wet shaving forever so I've pretty much tried them all. I’ve pretty much stuck to the higher end quality shaving products. Over the last few years I've decided to steer off course and try a medley of items off my radar or passed over because I wouldn't have given them a second thought. I decided to see if I was missing anything so I stepped off my high horse, put my shaving products snobbery in check and dove in. Here's my setup: I did two separate shaves with two days growth each. I used an aggressive open comb razor, a razor blade on the sharper end of the spectrum (on a scale of sharpness from 1 to 100, it's in the 95 percentile). My first shave I whipped up a nickel-sized amount of lather in a bowl with a quality badger brush and applied on my face. Two days later for my second shave I applied cream on a dry brush directly to my dry face and lathered with a wet high quality synthetic brush. Here's what I found: Lathers up quick and thick, the lubrication was slick, my blade glided effortlessly over my face. Blade cushioning and protection is excellent, at times it felt like I was shaving without a blade - no nicks, no scratches, no errors. I let the razor's weight do all the work; I only mention this because when you get that "I don't think there's a blade in my razor" feeling there is that tendency to apply a little pressure to the skin. Don't. Do. It. You will get nicks, cuts, razor burn or all of the above. I was able to get a BBS shave with a WTG and a ATG and a little touchup. Very impressive. Some observations: I find that I need more than the usual amount of water when making a rich lather. What I do in the bowl is build a lather normally and dip my brush to add more water as I go and as needed, I did the same on my face but kept adding water in small amounts, less chance of overdoing it and getting runny. While shaving I found that the lather would build up in my razor as if the lather was too thick, so I rinsed my razor more frequently. In conclusion: If I were in a hurry and needed a close shave with little prep, I would definitely reach for this cream. Smear on face with brush, whip up a lather, shave, rinse, go. I am going to use this cream in rotation. I have not used with a mild to medium closed comb razor yet, but I think it should work a well as my other preferred shaving creams.
