Excellent machine
This is an electric pressure cooker with with added automatic pressure release and air fryer function, if you buy it to use as such then it will be excellent , if you buy it to use primarily as air fryer then I think you will face issues with grease accumulation on the locks in the cover and issues you see with some YouTube vids … excellent and highly recommended

I was skeptical at first, believing that single purpose machines would be best. However having separate; slow cookers; air fryers; pressure cookers etc began to take up too much space. Having researched various Instant pots and their Ninja competitors, the price (on offer) for this all in one duo crisp with the ultimate lid made a compelling argument. I was not disappointed, it looks sleek and contemporary but it's not all glitz with nothing to back it up. I can compare a few of it's features with other standalone machines and all are favourable. The airfryer is effective, quick and has good results. (Compared with a larger rack based airfryer) and their is no need to swap lids with this model. One press of a button and the pressure cooker part of the lid drops out to reveal the heating elements. Not too noisy in use either. The pressure cooker is certainly quick and has a huge capacity, very quick to get to pressure and you have a choice of pressure release types (quick, natural etc) Safer and more controllable than my old manual one. Combining the different functions can mean a meal which would normally take hours can be cooked in a fraction of the time using less energy. One such meal is pulled pork. You can start by sauting the meat in the instant pot and then use the pressure cooker to finish off, or the slow cooker. The instant pot inner bowl is stainless steel which is quick to clean. The air fryer basket and trivet are non stick. The instant pot excels at making yoghurt, a huge amount in a single session; 4l of whole milk makes about 2l of thick creamy greek style yoghurt after straining and lots of whey for marinades adding to bread dough etc. Whilst I haven't tried the bake, proving or dehydrating functions yet I've no doubt they will be outstanding. I'm so glad I dived into this purchase and for the amount of times I've used it it is teal value for money and not like gimmicky vacuum in the corner gathering dust. If it could make; good fresh bean to cup coffee; great toast and blend up a smoothie that would cover almost all my morning needs in one machine. Until then I'm really happy with this. BUT...for a premium product the user/start manual is pretty non existent. You are directed online to view user manuals online or download. (Not a big issue but might be for some). There are large global user groups on social media that post recipes, tips and offer help to newbies, so answers to any questions you may have are usually readily available.

Still getting to grips with my Instant Pot with Ultimate Lid version. Unlike some, I will use it as an accompaniment to compliment my existing kitchen cooking devices, rather than as a replacement for them. I'd always wanted a pressure cooker and slow cooker, and our deep fat fryer went on the blink. I didn't have the worktop space for a replacement as well as have the other two cookers, so it made sense to get a multi-cooker that gave me all 3 (and more) facilities. I have managed to get fairly good results for the IP version of the triple cooked chips I made on the DFF. It's great for steaming potatoes and veg. I've used it for slow cooking pot roast style pork and topside of beef. There are only the two of us, but I wouldn't want the air fryer basket to be any smaller. Its size lets me spread stuff out. I think this version of IP might be a bit big for just one person, but then maybe not if they do batch cooking and soup making. The inner pot used for pressure and slow cooking is big, but I need it that size for making my huge pots of soup coming in to winter. I know I haven't used it to anywhere near its full potential yet, and probably never will. Be aware that it's VERY heavy and really quite large, but not much bigger than the DFF it replaced. It needs to be stored on the worktop, as it's too heavy to lift out the cupboard all the time. It has a hinged lid that doesn't come off. I have it sitting underneath my wall cupboards and pull it out to cook with. The tiny manual that accompanys the IP has a cheek to call itself that, everything's online. However, you have to do a lot of digging to find what you need. There are however lots of excellent websites and plenty of groups on Facebook. Instant Pot has its own UK Community Facebook group. It contains some fantastic help provided by it's members, as well as a diverse searchable recipe database. There's also an IP app, which is worth looking at. It's a good solid piece of kit and useful for everyone. I hope it will save me lots of time and be a real boon in the future.
