The perfect "middle ground" beer—hoppy enough for flavor, light enough for a session
1. The "Out of the Box" Experience This 24-pack is well-packaged in a sturdy box that keeps the 330ml cans secure. Camden’s branding is always clean and modern, and the "unpasteurized" label is a nice touch—it suggests a fresher taste compared to your standard supermarket lagers. 2. Real-World Use (Taste & Drinkability) At 4.0% ABV, this is a true session ale. It pours with a slightly hazy, golden color and a thin but consistent head. The taste is exactly as they describe: "less shouty." You get the citrus and grapefruit notes from the Citra and Simcoe hops, but it doesn't have that overwhelming "pine needles" bitterness that some American IPAs have. It’s very crisp and finishes dry. 3. The Pros and Cons • Pro: Versatile. It works just as well with a heavy burger as it does on its own on a sunny afternoon. • Pro: Consistency. Whether you get it on tap or in these cans, the flavor profile remains very stable. • Con: Not for "Hop-Heads." If you’re looking for a massive, punchy IPA that blows your palate away, this might feel a bit too safe or "thin" for you. • Con: Pricing. It’s often a few pounds more expensive than other mass-market 24-packs, but you are paying for the "craft" quality. 4. Who is this for? This is for the person who wants more flavor than a standard lager but isn't ready to commit to a heavy, high-alcohol craft beer. It’s a great "crowd-pleaser" for parties. Verdict: 4.5/5. Reliable, refreshing, and incredibly easy to drink. It’s a permanent fixture in my fridge for a reason.

Happy husband
When we were in London waiting for a train, my husband was talking about a pub nearby that had the best ale he had ever tasted, and he would love a glass. We walked over but the pub was unfortunately closed, my husband was so disappointed! He hadn't had a glass of it since it was brand new many moons ago because he just hadn't seen it anywhere else, but he remembered it was called Camden Pale ale. I googled, thank god I found and I ordered. A week later his birthday came around and he couldn't be more excited to get a box of this beer, it was the highlight of his day and he couldn't stop talking about it and taking pictures of his glass next to the can every time he filled it up 😂 His son didn't even get to sniff a can, it is the only time in many years I have ever seen this man refuse to share anything. Christmas is coming up so I think it's about time I put in another order, this time enough for everyone in the house to have a taste. And I can see this being a tradition in our home, so please don't discontinue or my husband will have words lol 😁
