Charging is slow, but steady
Works well as a battery maintainer. I don't drive a lot, so I keep the car battery attached to this to keep it topped up. 1-amp charging is not going to win any awards for speed, but for a battery maintainer, it's great. I liked that it includes a cord with clamps and a cord with ring terminals (for a more permanent install on the vehicle.) The ring terminal cord has an inline fuse which makes me feel better about leaving it attached. The cord on the AC side is not long, so have an extension handy. But the cords for the battery side are long enough the charger does not have to sit inside the engine compartment. LED turns to green when it's done. Other than that, it's pretty simple. For the price, it's well worth it.

Reliable Trickle Charger for Peace of Mind
As a DIY enthusiast who values reliable tools, the Foval Automatic Trickle Battery Charger has been a fantastic addition to my workshop. This charger has been a game-changer for keeping my 12V batteries in top condition. One thing I truly appreciate about this charger is its simplicity and effectiveness. It's incredibly easy to use, just plug it in and connect it to the battery, and it takes care of the rest. The automatic feature is a real lifesaver, ensuring the battery is charged to the right level without any risk of overcharging. This has given me great peace of mind, especially when leaving it connected for extended periods. The charger's compact size is another bonus. It doesn’t take up much space, making it perfect for my crowded workbench. Plus, the LED indicators are clear and helpful, letting me know the charging status at a glance. I’ve used it on various 12V batteries, from my car to my lawnmower, and it performs consistently well. It's great not having to worry about battery maintenance as much anymore. The trickle charge keeps them in good shape, ready to go whenever I need them. The only minor downside I've noticed is the length of the cables, which could be a bit longer for more flexibility in positioning. However, this is a small issue compared to the many benefits this charger offers. In summary, the Foval Automatic Trickle Battery Charger is a must-have for anyone looking to maintain their 12V batteries effortlessly. Its reliability, ease of use, and compact design make it an excellent choice for both casual and serious DIYers. It's a small investment that pays off big in terms of convenience and battery longevity.

Great deal. Don’t spend $40 when you can get it for $15
Product works as described. Very inexpensive and does the job of a product 3 times the price. Hilarious how some are bashing on the power cord length. Use an extension cord. I love how it came with the quick connect allowing me to leave it connected permanently with a quick connect just under the seat of my motorcycle seat. Makes for easy plug in and disconnect in the winter months. Look, this device is basic, it’s very inexpensive and it does the job. I’m happy and it only cost like $15 or something, so cheap I can’t even remember. I was trying to hurry up and cancel my other order that was $40 lol.

Good Quality, multiple connection types.
These things are great. I've bought at least 3-4 of this exact model and have had zero problems. Basically just hook them upto the battery, plug the charger in and they work great to keep your batteries topped off. I like that they come with both clamps, and o-ring connectors. I've hard wired the o-rings into my tractor so I just park it and plug it in, no hassle.

Works great
Works great for my car battery to help keep it charging until we find out is wrong with an issue. No longer have to keep replacing batteries.

Reviewed by an Electrical Engineer with 30Yrs on the job, I would give it 6 stars if it possible.
Somewhere, someone actually wanted to build a very good battery charger AND maintainer, and they actually did it. First: this is not a "jump start" high current charger. Second: if your battery needs a miracle, take it to church, because this wont fix it. Third: This is the best battery charger I have ever seen, especially for the price. I rarely write reviews. I am also equally rarely impressed with low cost made-in-China consumer goods. When I got this charger, I did not expect to be impressed. For fun I put a voltmeter and a current meter on it expecting to be unimpressed and to hate on it... To my shock and amazement, a pleasant surprise. They got this charger EXACTLY right. in short: In the video's above you can see the charger applying constant current of ~900mA then backing off and measuring voltage, all the way up to 14.5 volts-offo-the-charger, and then switching to 33mA of constant current. (note that if this were used in a car with large capacitors attached to the battery it may go in to the trickle charge mode a bit early, but this is not likely with most farm / atv / classic cars, and would certainly be avoided by pulling the battery terminal when you charge it) A few days ago, after throwing away my 3rd Harbor-Freight "trickle charger", (They last about 1 year then then seem to die, and their internals are is nothing more than a poorly regulated 14.5 volt constant voltage source with very little current) I started asking myself, "why don't you just go ahead and build your own charger... If i had the time, THIS charger would have been what I would have spent hundreds of hours perfecting. This charger is a smart charger that is actually smart. When you attach it to the battery, it measures the voltage on the battery, and if it is below 14.5 volts, this charger then applies about 0.9 Amps ( constant current mode, NOT dependent on battery voltage) for 10 seconds, then dis-connects the charge for 1 second, re-measures the battery voltage, and if it's disconnect-voltage is under 14.5 volts, it starts this cycle over and over again. This is an excellent way of truly top-off charging the battery, (1 Amp is not too shabby if you have more than a few hours). Once the 14.5 volt threshold has been crossed, the charger then goes in to a mode where it switches to constant-current of 35 Mili Amps, and stays in the 35MA mode until the next time that the charger is dis-connected from the battery. I know this is a bit technical for most non-battery nerds, but suffice to say, if you have a car / tractor / ATV that sits a lot more than you use it, this is the charger you want for it. It -WILL- charge a discharged battery fairly quickly (5-20 hours depending on battery size and how dead it is). It charges at a rate of 1-am-hour, so take your battery size and do the math.. It will not kill your battery with over voltage, and it will not kill your battery by completely disconnecting the charge from it, leaving it to slowly die offline. If I were to build a charger, this is what I would have come up with. Update: Left it charging over night, It is still testing the battery ever 10 seconds, and keeping 35mA going in to it. I also unplugged the charger, and measured to see if the charger itself would present a parasitic load on to the battery, which (in the case of the Harbor Freight charger) will kill the battery in the case of a long-term power outage. GOOD NEWS: this charger has ZERO parasitic load if the main power fails, so it will not kill a good battery in the case of long-term power outages. Again, this is an excellent charger.

Hook-up was easy and it's working!
We're expecting -30 degrees overnight and I bought this to better ensure my car battery doesn't freeze. I went on a long drive to get the battery good and charged and then hooked this up. It was easy to set up (even for a non-mechanically inclined person like me). It took a little over an hour for the fully charged light to come on. So far so good!
