This was very useful for a specific job.
I bought this drill bit to drill a hole in the front door to install a peep hole viewer. After reading reviews about the center drill bit failures, I removed the spring and then used a regular drill bit to drill the pilot hole through the door. I then used the bit assembly to drill the larger holes, drilling from the outside on each side of the door. It worked perfectly. The cuts were smooth and clean.

Great for my steel door
I was skeptical of this bit at first since the teeth look so aggressive. I had to drill a foam filled steel door. I was concerned that it would catch on the sheet metal and tear it. However, this bit worked perfectly. I drilled a smaller pilot hole first because I wanted to penetrate the door from both sides. I used the bit on high speed with gentle pressure and the result was flawless.

Not deep enough to get through door
This was recommended to work with a through the door viewer. The drill was not nearly deep enough to get through the door and required multiple drills then emptying then re-drilling cycles to complete the job. Because of this it was much more likely that the hole was not perfectly orthogonal to the door with the result that the viewer did not mount correctly. Had to wallow out the hold to get the mount to work properly. This is not the correct tool to make a hole in a door for accurately mounting something like a through the door viewer.

Worked great.
I had a steel door with a foam core I was installing a earl diamond solid brass peephole (which I also recommend) in, that requires a 28mm hole. Works great, took about 3 minutes, I do wish the the bit was a bit longer. The first steel panel was easy, but I couldn't reach the back side. I couldn't come in from the other side yet and get it to line up perfectly. So I had to pull the bit out of the drill a bit, more than I'd like to puncture the far side of the door with the small bit. Then I could drill from the far side of the door using the small hole as a guide. But did a quick job, nice clean cut, and it has a nice design. Just wish the shaft was 0.5" longer or to allow cutting through a 2 inch door. For a cleaner cut I recommend using very little pressure and be patient.

Sharp and Easy
I used this small hole saw to drill a peep hole (viewer) through my metal front door. When through like it was butter. Excellent fit and finish on the bit and it came in a nice carry case.

Don't Buy This To Drill Through A Steel Door
I'm sure this bit has some good utility but I bought this to drill a larger hole in two steel doors for a wide-angle peephole viewer. It broke while drilling the first door's inner layer and now I'm just awaiting arrival of a step-bit to do the rest of the first door and all of the second. My fault--I should have read reviews more carefully and did a bit more research before I ordered it, but fortunately, it was not expensive and again, I'm sure it has some good utility boring through other media.
