Gets Hot With Just sticks, small branches
We live in the north west the (Big One) is coming? This rocket stove is prefect for small group of people cooking one pot meals. My wife is Filipina and made a pot of rice in about 25 minutes, fun and easy. We have a covered back deck that we use the rocket stove on. This stove burns with almost no smoke, nice to cook out of the rain. This is a great price for a well made stove that is portable, and is in my emergency kit

Best style of rocket cook stove I have tried
This GasOnes rocket stove is great. I tested it out using small twigs and branches that were rained on the day before. I lit with a sheet newspaper lit on fire shoved in the top, then feeding twigs in the top. It lit right up. After feeding imtwigs in the top for 5 minutes, I put some small branches in the side and in about five minutes the fire was going strong and ready to use. The stove operated well on damp twigs and sticks, but left a lot of soot on the pot, even though there was not much smoke coming off the fire. I think the flames cooled in contact with the pot before all the conbusables were burned. I was able to boil 1 gallon of water outside on a damp fogy day in 21 minutes after the stove was lit and warmed up using damp twigs and branches, but there was lots of soot on the pot. I did have to fiddle with the wood very often to push the sticks into the burn chamber and keep the fire going properly. When I put a tinfoil shield around the pot and used 3 1 X 2 inch pieces of small damp lumber. I was able to boil a gallon of water in 15 minutes with much less soot and very little wood burnt. Also, I didn't have to shove the wood in as fast. I noticed, it is best not to shove the wood all the way in or the stove may smoke. Instead, stick the wood in just enough to get good flames coming out the top of the stove, and still draw lots of air in to ensure proper combustion. For reference, the large burner on my electric range took 13 minutes to boil water, but, my rang is not outside in the cold damp fogy weather in a brease burning damp wood as fuel. I think in good conditions with a pot skirt, this stove would produce as much max output as my large burner on my range, and heat can be adjusted by the amount of wood in the burn chamber and how far you shove the wood in Also, I liked the sturdy construction of the GasOne stove

Perfect for cooking with a wok!
This rocket stove is nice! Pairs well with any of my woks. The bottom door was reluctant to close all the way, but after the first burn this corrected itself somehow. Nice fit and finish and the packaging was worth keeping for long term storage. I've only fired it up once, but this appears to be just what I wanted. Plenty of heat and stability to cook properly on a wok, VERY fuel efficient, fairly omnivorous in terms of fuel and relatively easy to manage the heat while cooking in a wok. I don't know or even care much about controlling the temperature, I want high heat for 5-10 minutes at a time while I stir fry, then a nice bed of coals that can be easily stoked for the next phase of cooking or used for simmering. This does that. It's functionally the same design as the clay stoves traditionally paired with a wok all over Asia. I am not sure how well it can be adapted to cooking western style meals in western cookware, where longer, slower cooking is more common and more control over the heat is required.

Reliable and Efficient Rocket Stove for Outdoor Cooking
The GasOne Premium Wood Burning Rocket Stove is incredibly sturdy and easy to use. It heats up fast with just small pieces of wood or twigs. The flame is strong and stable, making cooking outdoors much easier. It’s compact enough for camping, hiking, or even for backyard use. Overall, a dependable and efficient stove for anyone who wants a simple, fuel-free cooking option in the outdoors.

Great car camping gear!
Fantastic little rocket stove! It works best with smaller pieces of wood. But I love tending to a fire, so it’s satisfying to feed it twigs and sticks. You will easily be able to boil water and cook on it, and it puts off plenty of heat for a small group to huddle around. Save your bigger logs for a fire pit, or be prepared to break down wood for it to fit.

Just like the "other", more expensive one
This little guy shocked me. Small, sturdily built. I boiled 2L of room temp water (60F outside) to a full rolling boil in exactly 20 mins then it continued to boil for another hour and 20 mins with a half of a "normal" sized firewood (dry oak split into 1" staves"). Burned very cleanly once it's going. Not much of a roar like other rocket stoves I've used but I was keeping it minimally fed. After an easy start, I put two staves in and pushed one in a little every five minutes. So not much work, just got to keep an eye on it since it has such a smart amount of fuel. I'm sure you could walk away for 15 mins if you cared less about fuel efficiency. Once you get used to the draft door you can probably dial it in even more. With the dradr door closed and checking every 5 mins, I had a perfect boil going. My only complaint is it would be nice if it were a little easier to clean, but it's by no means difficult or worth taking away a star.

Solidly built - multi fuel
Super rocket stove. Well built and solid. We tried it with twigs around the garden as well as some charcoal briquettes. With dry twigs, it gives off a nice fire that rises above the stove. I used some firestarters to light some briquettes. Twigs burn quite fast, so you may want to have some collected in advance. We did some light grilling.
