Dud keys
I bought these specifically for a 2002 Ford Ranger, which is listed as compatible. The keys I received had a small dot stamp. Per the locksmith, this indicates either a bad transponder chip, or... I forget the second indication. The upshot is, it did NOT work. When attempting self-programing, I got a rapid blink instead of a steady 5-second-on light. A rapid blink means the key is not compatible. I had to buy keys from the locksmith stamped with an "SA" instead of a dot. I've learned my lesson. It's a shot in the dark if a third-party key will work with your car. This is actually the 2nd time I've attempted to order a key (first time wasn't from Amazon), and both times I got incompatible keys. Next time I need a car key, I'll get one from the knowledgeable local locksmith. Addendum: Older cars like my 2002 Ranger limit you to a max of four programmed keys. Even if the key you buy is compatible, if extra keys have been made at anytime in the past, once all four memory slots are used, you cannot add any new keys without first clearing memory and reprogramming back in your existing and new key(s). This takes someone with the right OBD plugin equipment to do it, like a locksmith. This could also explain why some people haven't been able to self-program keys on their own.

More than I needed
I didn't read the description carefully. I didn't need the transponder keys. Worked fine though to replace my keys.

Great replacements. Also how-to DIY.
Work perfectly. To prepare these keys for yourself you need to get them cut at either a Home Depot or Lowes, just have them cut it as the non-transponder version of the key. You then need to get a laptop with FORSCAN and the appropriate adapter, there are tutorials for this on youtube. you will also need the extended license for the Forscan software, you can either get a 2 month free trial by emailing them or buying a 1 year license for $12. One more thing, programming takes a little while as it has a lockout time interval to avoid someone just walking in your car and programming a key in 30 seconds. The interval is 12 minutes, which means 12 minutes that your car is running just off the battery. If you have a weak battery id highly recommend either replacing it or putting on a battery charger while you're programming, if the battery dies while programming you can potentially brick your entire PCM.

Would buy again! Much much cheaper than going to the Dealership.
The keys worked perfectly as long as I had two original keys!

Works great but blanks still need to be cut
Easy to program and works perfectly but be aware: THE KEY NEEDS TO BE CUT. Pretty obvious but I honestly hadn't thought of that. The hardware store charged twice as much to cut the keys as I paid for them but still much less than going through a locksmith. For my car, I needed 2 working keys in order to program these two so look at what your vehicle requires in order to program these blanks.
