Great with some reservations
I think this ramp is great except for the fact that it's impossible to secure it to the car. For that reason, I wrote "great with some reservations" in the headline, meaning that the ramp is useful but that safety needs to be a top priority when the dog is on the ramp. Safety is a concern with other ramps, as well, since some of the breeds tend to distrust the ramp and will try to jump off or may even fall off due to nervousness.I bought the ramp used from the Amazon Warehouse. It was advertised as "Used - Like New." In my opinion, that means "mint" condition. I think it would have been more accurate to describe it as "Used - Very Good" because it did show signs of wear. All of that aside, the ramp is exactly what I needed. My 30 lb. Sheltie is a therapy dog and no longer likes to jump up into the car as she did when she was younger. She is too heavy for me to lift into the car on our weekly trips to hospitals, schools, and nursing homes.Having read that some people use treats to get a dog to walk on the ramp, I tried a different approach and used treats after she had walked up the ramp and after she had walked down the ramp. I opened the driver's side door and propped the curved section of the ramp on the rim of the car door opening, taking care that it was sturdily in place. I then grasped my dog by the collar and gently walked her up into the front seat and repeated the process back down. We did this twice and then I rewarded her with her favorite treat. I repeated the training in the same way for the next two days. By the third day, she was running up and down the ramp with little assistance or guidance from me. She was delighted to do so because she knew her favorite treat would be given to her upon completion of her task.My only concern is that the ramp might fall off the edge of the opening to the car. There really is no way to secure it or to actually snap-it-in-place. For that reason, I would never let her run up and down the ramp without my guidance to be sure that the ramp stays in place and that she doesn't accidentally dislodge it.One reason I bought the ramp and really like it is that it weighs only 7 lbs. I am almost age 70 and am small in size. I have used heavier ramps belonging to my friends and don't feel that it's easy to carry or lift bigger ramps or fold them. This ramp is easy to fold and is really nice. I am so glad that I bought this ramp at a great price and that my dog has easily adjusted to using it.I will add that I drive a Ford Focus and that this short ramp is ideal in pitch and length. I had thought about getting a longer ramp, but it isn't necessary. This length works well.

Justnot the right fit.
I got this for a back side door of a Sudan. Now, if my door were to open at a 90°, this might doable. But because of its width, and where it sits, my dog can't actually use it to get in, because the door is in the way, and won't open wide enough to where the door is out of the way. How this makes sense.

Review on the bi fold short ramp for dogs under 200lbs i drive a ford focus
I 1st saw this as a lady was lifting her lab into a van. I ran right up and asked about where she got this great product. After telling me I went home and ordered it right away. For my 2 Bassets as you know basset have short legs and long bodies which makes it hard for them to get in my car or jump down and can give them back problems if the jump down to much anyway about the product. I drive a 2012 ford focus a small car but this ramp works perfect in the back and front seat it is just wide enough to fit most cars front and rear doors. You can use it on the ledge of the door or place the ramp on the seat cushion which makes it a little more steep. AS for going up and down that will take time with lots of treats and reward training. But they will get the hang of it. My 11 year old loves it but needs a little push at the end of the ramp to finish the trip into the vehicle. My 3 year old just walks right up and down no problem. You will need to place your foot on the bottom of it to keep it stable will they are walking up it because it is unstable without support and dogs don't like it. AS for the green turf on it I do believe it services it's purpose and gives the dogs more gripping support which helps them. I bought the bi fold short ramp for dogs under 200lbs and the height works great with the small car. It does have a slight incline and this style will not work for trucks or large s u v you will need the larger tri fold. But for a van or small care like a focus this works. I am so surprised at how early my dogs learned to use the ramp and how much they enjoy it. If your on the fence just buy it your dog will thank you and so will your own back legs and arms. The basset now go on outings with me all the time oh another thing about this is it isn't to heavy and has a latch to keep it folded when not in use I will bring mine from the car to house and put it on the sofa so the older one can walk up it to his favorite spot that he can no longer jump up to. It is small enough to not take up to much front room in my apt it would also work for a bed or whatever. This has to be the best investment for my babies I might buy another just so I can leave one in car and one at home. This is also an alternative if your dog hates doggy step as mine do try this ramp it will change their and your life together.

Damaged box
Ordered a used/returned product for nearly half price. The corner of the box was torn and smashed but the ramp was only slightly scuffed. There is something loose rattling inside of the ramp. Doesn't not stay in the closed position and no handle for transport so it's a bit awkward to pick up and put away. The Trax mat is velcro so it can be removed or replaced. Not the most stable option for the sliding door and the strap with carabiner is useless there. Luckily this will only be temporary. My dog's took to the ramp pretty easily.

Easy to Use Sturdy
This ramp is a great alternative to letting your old dog try to jump up into your car or you have to pick your dog up. It fits up against the foot rail or if no foot rail it lines up well with the car door entry. My old girl with a treat learned to use it after 2 attempts. She was a little timid at first but after the first walk up voila!! she was a pro:) Light weight, folds up easily, no skid mat as dog goes up the ramp, and no movement on the part of the ramp. My dog is medium weight, 36 pounds, so rather than pick her up every time we go out inthe car I use the ramp now. Great buy.
