My husband had bought me this very nice display case for my more expensive gemstones, but I wanted something to make it looks a bit better. These clear bases were JUST THE TICKET! I had tried a white foam photo prop, but it block most of the spot lights. These are perfect to allow light to pass through and really show off the gemstones. I will definitely be buying more display cases and these risers. SIDE NOTE: I used 3mm brand sticky glue dots to "hold" my items in place. Things like gemstones you DON'T want falling off! Definitely a great buy, nice and clear and polished. I am guessing the poor buyer who had his wrap melt to his bases (they do some wrapped which is standard for shiny plastic) bought his when it was hot -- they could have heated up in the cargo container or anywhere else along the travel route. Just keep THAT in mind if you are concerned. I ordered mine in winter, so no issues with melting ;)

These columns are awesome - they are clear are air - if not for the curve you would not know you were looking through a piece of plastic - very nice.

After searching forever for a set of these little acrylic stands I was astounded at how great these are for photographing minerals. I would definitely buy these again!

These are exquisite, perfectly polished mini (be sure and read the dimensions) acrylic cylinders. I can't wait to find shells and pebbles to go with my Japanese Netsuke, (carved figurine) I have ordered many items since becoming an Amazon member in 2014, but have never felt any item was near the quality as these four mini cylinders.
