So far, so good
Used this on wild camping. So far only in the summer and with fair weather. I have the two man tent for me and my seven year old son. Plenty of space. No issues with condensation when it is set up and guy roped appropriately. I would recommend. The only annoyance is I’m 2 pegs less than needed to fully peg and rope out.

Light, Compact and well made
Was not sure what to expect but the reviews were good so thought I would give it a go. Used on a DofE Expedition for 3 nights. It is great! It is very light. Folds up small. big enough inside (comfortable 1... would be "snug" for 2). Waterproof so far. Will probably buy some more as group kit.

Solid tent survived torrential rain
Took this out on its first venture on a weekend trip to the Peak District. I don’t drive, so I took the train there, which was packed! So for some of the journey I was wearing my rucksack. I think because of this reason I found it to be a bit heavier than what I was hoping and my last tent was a very light pop up one. It also rained (torrential) the whole time I was there so I had to put up my tent fast (and in the dark haha). Luckily it didn’t get too wet going up and was relatively easy to figure how to do this! The tent remained dry throughout the weekend so all in all a success! After packing it down and bringing it all the way home and giving it a good clean, it dried off pretty quickly and I’d say the fabric is good quality. It was a good size for just me… mostly because there were puddles of water underneath the tent that I was strategically sleeping around (not that comfortable) and all of my stuff was in the tent with me. If you had a car or extra space outside the tent for baggage/belongings then I reckon it would be fine for 2. Although I used this as a tent in October when it was very wet and cold, I might use this as my summer tent and my pop up one for autumn/winter as I think it retains the warmth a little better. If I could rate this 4.5 I would’ve done but because I can’t it’s 4… any room for improvement would be weight and some sort of insulating layer. Perhaps even as something that you could add on/take off when required. I don’t know if this is possible?

Great lightweight tent and fantastic customer care
Great backpacking tent, especially for the weight & price - really good value. I actually had a nightmare on about my 5th trip in this tent, where an unwise pitch and freak winds caught a group of us out (none of the 3 tents made it unscathed to the morning). I contacted Wandelen Outdoor to ask if they sold a replacement pole set, and after telling my story they sent me a replacement TENT. Brand new one! Such amazing care for customers, will be forever brand loyal now.

Impossible to use
The ridge pole connector appeared heavily stressed and failed on the first use 2 weeks ago in Morocco!!☹️ Fortunately we were able to sleep in the car. Ray+Irene - 2 experienced campers

Great tent 🏕️
Haven’t used it yet, just tested building it inside but was very easy to setup and seems to be made of good sturdy material 👍 would be snug for 2 people but for 1 and their gear this is ideal! Awesome tent

Beware condensation is an issue.
Got this tent recently and was super impressed initially with it for the price payed and how compact it was in my bag. First night using it I was just so disappointed when waking up to the worst condensation dripping I've experienced in a tent. This was with the rear vent propped open. To make this worse there seems to be a design flaw with the out walls easily touch the inner fly net. So water passed into the tent and made my mat and sleeping bag wet. Was quite disappointed as I really want to like this tent. Now I'm unsure whether I want to keep it or look for a different tent.

This tent was great until about a week and a half into our family hiking/camping adventure. After weathering wind, rain and storms of the Norwegian highlands relatively well, all three of our tents collapsed within 24 hours. It seems they all finally reached their limit. This was not after 2 years, or even one year. All three of our tents failed after only two weeks of use. Not in a big storm, but after a few nights of moderate wind. And they all failed at the same point: the joint above the door where three red poles should be securely seated. The aluminum disk where the poles are seated was not able to withstand the repeated flexing in the persistent moderate wind. With the seats warped from fretting, they could no longer hold the poles which were now free to slip out and rip holes in the tent fabric. Perhaps the design was good but this part was outsourced to a cheaper supplier. Or maybe this is built-in obsolescence and the tent is only meant to last a week. I spent a day repairing all three tents so we could make our way back to civilization, but our fun family adventure was essentially over from that point because we had put our trust in this product. It was with disappointment that we make the long slog back, cutting short our epic trip by a week. We tried, but have not been able to get any response from Amazon or the manufacturer. Poor customer service just compounds the failures of the product. Failure to own up and take responsibility for the decisions that led to this equipment failure ensures that I cannot recommend this company's products to anyone.

Had this tent on a five day hike in alpine country during the summer and it worked well. It did what it promise to do and kept dry even if it rained constantly. You have to pitch the inner tent before you can cover it and that brings the total down a bit but are satisfied with this tent Bonus points because it works for me as a tall man and my head didnt touch the inner tent

- Compatta. - Alta resistenza all'acqua. - Possibilità di montaggio anche senza la camera interna, lasciando solo il guscio e il sotto telo. (peso dimezzato) - Facilità di montaggio, grazie all'arco unico. - Picchetti in alluminio. - Involucro/sacca dell'intera tenda ultra compatto e leggero. - Facilità di chiusura ed inserimento nella borsa. Contro: - Catino molto sottile, facile rovinarlo o tagliarlo se il suolo non è perfetto.

I purchased this Appalachian 2 tent by Wandelen from Amazon as a lighter weight backpacking alternative to my trusty Kelty 2 person tent that Ive had and used countlesss times over the last 25 years. This tent is of similar design to my trusted regular, (and at 3 pounds lighter!), I thought Id take a chance on it. The price was so reasonable compared to others of similar design on the market, despite mixed reviews on amazon, from what I could tell overall, the odds seemed favorable. I was very pleased to receive it within a couple of days and found it well packaged. At my first attempt to erect it in my basement I found the directions simple, and intuitive by design. It set up easily in just a few minutes. I love that it includes its own perfectly sized ground cloth that ties in with the rest of the set up of the tent. It also includes a fantastic powerful little rechargeable lantern that weighs next to nothing. Maybe an ounce? The first weekend setting it up in the field on a short weekend camping trip which was a dry run for a planned upcoming backpacking adventure revealed a problem. After initial setup, when closing the rainfly the zipper split in the middle and the zipper itself came off of the zipper tape. That was a bit of a pain but we were able to improvise and adapt and were lucky that it didnt rain. Despite that set back and my disappointment that upon its first field trial there was a failure we made do and the rest of the tent had no issues at all. NOW BEFORE CONTINUING FURTHER WITH THIS REVIEW I MUST TELL YOU THIS; that after our camping trip I reported the problem with the rainfly zipper directly to Wandelen and within a day received an email saying how sorry they were for the failure and that they wanted to make things right for me as their customer by immediately sending me a replacement. Not just a new rainfly as I had requested, but an entirely NEW TENT!!! I cannot say enough good things about how I well I was treated by this company. The gentleman by the name of Jonathan who I was in contact with was so professional and courteous in multiple email correspondence. In this day and age it is refreshing to find a company with people who truly care abut their customers the way this company and its employees do. He told me they were express shipping me a new unit and it would arrive within two days which it did. Thank you Jonathan and Wandelen for being a company that backs up its product and cares about their customers as if they were family!! Now, back to the review: I was pleasantly surprised all around by the overall performance of the tent from the ample space there was for two people (I'm 5'9" and my wife is 5'8") and our sleeping matts, pillows, and some of our gear to the door zipper operation, the built in vent, and the fact that it has so much screen for star gazing. The tent is very well designed and you can tell it was designed for backpakers by backpackers. The only thing I would change about this tent is the amount of vestibule space available. It was not big enough for both of our backpacks. We could only just get one within it and with barely enough room to get past it if we had to get up in the night. Its really just meant for smaller items such as boots, or shoes. So be sure to pack a rain cover for your pack when using this tent. It would be great if in future iterations of this tent they could make the vestibule a bit longer to the front and with closer coverage to the ground. In any case I will defintely be using the new tent on future backpacking trips and will update when Ive tried out the new rainfly on the new tent! Thank you again Wandelen!! Well done! Customer service done right!
