It’s a slow start then really kicks in!
Great starter. Didn’t set after the first 8 hours in my instant pot (great piece of kit for making yoghurt) so I just fermented again for 8 hours overnight. Made perfect thick yoghurt with lovely flavour. I don’t leave it too long so it’s not too tangy for me. I now use 2 tablespoons I’ve reserved to make 1l - 1.2 litres of yoghurt 3 times a week. Sometimes I strain, sometimes I add skimmed milk powder for added protein/thickness - it’s alway good. Highly recommended.

Disappointing
Not impressed. I very carefully followed the recipe resulted in a “yoghurt” that did not set properly and after straining resulted in runny yoghurt, which did not taste good at all. Bought a ph meter for food and the “yoghurt” ph was over 5.5. Should have been around 4.3. The pack is also very expensive. I have purchased an alternative Greek start kit for much less and there are 5 packs.

Tastes great, works perfectly
Brilliant starter culture, worked perfectly. It tastes fantastic, far superior to what you buy in the supermarket and much less plastic! The thing I love most about this one is it's a heritage culture, which means you can keep reculturing it from each batch. I keep a little bit aside in the fridge from each fresh batch and use it to start my next batch. I've been doing this for months now.

Amazing taste and easy to use.
I recently started making my own yogurt and found Good Gut Tribe. I have now created my amazing yogurt and would recommend you try it too. Real, amazing good taste.

Lovely
This made absolutely beautiful yoghurt. I used uht milk, and it doesn't have the after taste I find when I usually make my own yoghurt using that kind of milk. I'm not sure how much yoghurt I need to add to milk for the next batch, as the instructions don't say

No better than using Sansbury's own yoghurt as a starter
Not even as good a Saisbury's. Yoghurt made with this didn't work at all (failed to set). I reverted to using saved yoghurt from an earlier batch I had made using Sainsbury's own yoghurt as a starter and that worked perfectly.

Google your instructions first
It didn't come with any instructions. It said scan the bar code, so I did, and still didn't get any instructions. I just poured the whole lot in and hoped for the best. My best wasn't good enough. I obviously didn't have the base mixture warm enough so it didn't set. I turned the yoghurt maker back on overnight with same mixture and it sort of set, but I was disappointed.

Works for batch after batch - excellent heirloom variety.
Creates lovely yoghurt which once strained is thick and deliciously creamy. The following 8 batches have all been equally delicious so definitely an heirloom variety (beats using the usual store bought organic live yoghurt which only is good for 3-4 b batches before it gets a bit acidic)
