0000 USED PROFESSIONALLY ON GUITARS TO POLISH FRETS & REMOVE FRETBOARD GUNK
A consistent weave steel wool. Doesn't last as long as some more expensive 0000 wools I've used, but it works well enough for the money.

Rescues pots & pans you thought were trash
Thought this pan was trash after I burned the crap out of something or other in it. I was wrong. This steel wool is AMAZING. I especially love it for cleaning windows that are seemingly impossible to clean well. They come perfectly spotless with these and water. Iāve ordered them a few times now.

Versatile Steel Wool Pads That Deliver Consistent Results
I purchased the Homax 33873211143 Steel Wool set to handle a variety of surface preparation tasks around the house. The assortment of coarse, medium, and fine grades included in the pack made it easy to tackle everything from stripping old finishes to smoothing surfaces before painting. The pads are flexible enough to reach tricky spots, and the quality of the metal strands ensures effective cleaning without excessive damage. Cleaning power: 4.5/5 The steel wool pads effectively remove grime, old paint, and rust with minimal effort. The coarse grade is especially strong for heavy-duty cleaning, while the finer grades handle lighter tasks well. Shine: 4/5 The fine grade pads are excellent for giving surfaces a smooth, polished finish. While not producing a mirror-like shine, they do enhance the appearance of wood and metal noticeably. Quality: 4/5 The metal strands are uniform and durable, resisting breakage during use. The pads maintain their integrity even after several uses, though a bit more resilience would be appreciated. Size: 4/5 Each pad is a practical size for general use, fitting comfortably in hand and allowing access to corners. The 12-pad pack provides good value for multiple projects. Scratch removal: 4/5 The assortment allows for gradual scratch reduction from coarse to fine, effectively removing imperfections without overly damaging surfaces. Careful use prevents unwanted marks. Softness: 3.5/5 While the pads are abrasive by nature, the finer grades are reasonably gentle and suitable for delicate finishes. The coarse pads are understandably rougher, so caution is needed. Pros: - MADE IN USA - Versatile assortment for varied tasks - Flexible and easy to handle - Uniform, high-quality metal strands - Good value with 12 pads per pack - Effective for surface preparation and finishing Cons: - Could be more durable on heavy use - Fine grade not as soft as expected Overall, this steel wool set is a reliable choice for DIY enthusiasts and professionals needing an assortment of grades for cleaning, stripping, and polishing.

Great for Finishing Touches, but Pads Could Be More Durable
I've used Rhodes American Grade #0000 steel wool for several woodworking and metal polishing projects, and overall, it's a great product. The ultra-fine grade makes it perfect for applying wax finishes, buffing out minor imperfections, and giving that final smooth polish to wood and metal surfaces. It really brings out a professional-looking finish without scratching or damaging delicate materials. The 12-pad pack is convenient, and the pads are easy to tear into smaller pieces when needed. I especially like using it between coats of polyurethane or when cleaning antique hardware. My only complaintāand the reason for 4 stars instead of 5āis that the pads wear down pretty quickly, especially if you're using them on larger surfaces or tougher materials. They also tend to shed a bit, which means cleanup can be a little annoying. Still, for finer detail work and light finishing jobs, they do an excellent job. Definitely a solid addition to any toolboxājust keep in mind theyāre best for precision and final-stage work rather than heavy-duty scrubbing.

Great, but wear thick gloves when handling
Wear gloves while using! It was easy to cut and shape into the size that I wanted. The wire will cut you or splinter into your skin very easily. We used this with weep hole covers to keep rodents out, works great together!

Works awesome to bring back the finish on chrome parts
Who would have thought that steel wool could be used safely on chrome parts? Well, this was the only stuff that got my latest motorcycle project to shine. I bought an old bike to restore. Chrome parts were just black with grime and carbon. I put on rubber gloves and started scouring the engine, wheels and exhaust. Everything came back to its original shine! Worked great on the aluminum parts as well. I'm sorry I didn't think to take pix of the bike before I used the steel wool. But if you can imagine it - all that shiny chrome you see in the pictures was completely covered in years of grime. A little elbow grease and the steel wool brought the shine back.

Hard to find in stores. Used to remove cooked on food on a ceramic top stove. Gently removed with no scratches. Good product.

The image speaks for itself. There was a patch on the crash bar that cannot be removed with normal polish or even micro abrasive chrome polish. Only took me 30 sec to remove it with this steel wool and without scratches.

This product did not impress me at first, but after I used it to remove the rust from my old dustbin, it looked brand new and was scratch-free. This steel comes to mind whenever I see something that needs some TLC or has rust on it.
