Huge difference compared to paddle brush! I bought this for myself and another for my son. I have fine hair and my son has shoulder-length, thick hair with a decent curl to it, along with sensitive scalp. For me even eith my fine hair I notice a difference in the ease that the brush goes through my hair. For my son it really makes brushing his hair so much easier and I brush it twice a day to keep the knots minimized. He used to be near tears with a paddle brush and now I only get an occasional 'ow!' but that is usually if I am rushing and/or not properly working my way from his ends to his roots. I love the colours of this one. Nice and feminine. For my son I got the cat one cause he said he preferred cats to superheroes (he's such an animal lover). Would be nice if there were more options for boys.

Fantastic hairbrush, which has now swayed me away from another branded hairbrush as it goes through hair much smoother and removes more knots in less time. Fab design choice too - love it!
