Cascadian Farm Organic Hearty Morning Fiber Cereal, Made with Whole Grain, 14.6 oz

Recovering Uncle Sam Cereal devotee (just found out US was sadly, and unfathoambly discontinued) seeking my next favorite high fiber, low sugar, low sodium breakfast bowl. What this Cascadian Farms cereal lacked in simplicity of recipe, and toasted flax goodness, it makes up for it in variety of crunchy textures. US had light but crunchy flakes (a little like dried oak leaves) and flax seeds. This CF cereal has twigs, clusters, and flakes with tons of crunch, and although the sugar level per serving is higher than US (which had zero added sugar), the CF cereal is not cloyingly sweet. The sweetness is mild, just enough to be noticed. I can live with that out of consideration of the other aspects of the CF cereal which follow more closely the US cereal's specifications. That said, if CF were to offer a cereal exactly like this one but MINUS the added sugar--or perhaps a low sugar version--they would have me right between the eyes. It's crunchy, healthful, varied mouth texture, and filling but my stomach tolerates it very peacefully. If you're looking for a high fiber healthy cereal, give this one a try. So far I'm reasonably happy with it, aside from concerns about excess added sugar.

This cereal is a solid choice if you want a relatively wholesome, fiber-rich breakfast cereal that keeps you full. It’s particularly well if you like to add fruit and/or yogurt, that complements it's mild flavor and adds nutrition.

Surprisingly delicious with my almond milk! Tasty ingredients. Good quality, no sugar needed, stayed fresh for weeks. Wish the box were bigger.

Price was reasonable (for two boxes). Ingredient list showed cane sugar and honey, but no corn syrup (excellent). Prepared a giant bowl with a sliced banana. It was crunchy and had a delicious flavor. However, it was just too sweet for me. My first meal of the day can't be dessert.

Pretty darn good tasting cereal. My stomach loves it afterwards too. No bloat.

Fresh and crispy

It is a good cereal in terms of nutrition. For a high fiber, low fat, whole grain cereal it tastes quite good. However, I am not sure if it is vegan or even vegetarian. One of the ingredients is "Natural flavors". What is it? Animals are natural too. Was any "flavor" derived from an animal or from an animal product? Since it is not clear, I am taking away 2 stars.
