AMAZING.
This sword is incredible. I love everything about it. Its incredibly sharp, very solid, and fits well in the hands. This came with a sword stand/sword bag as well and I was ecstatic when I opened the box to discover these items. 10/10 will be buying another sword from Hanbon Forge!

It’s real, it’s cool. IT’S SHARP!
I bought this for my son’s 12th Birthday. It seems to be the accurate replica that he wanted. He only asked for the cosplay version but I had no other gifts in mind so he got the upgrade. When he first drew the sword from the sheath, I immediately realized my mistake. This thing is honed to a deadly razor edge. It’s cool, but he’s a 12yo boy… I’m not exactly saying he’s irresponsible and dumb… I’m saying I should have gone with a blunt blade. Quality is pretty good. I was impressed and HE absolutely loves it. But neither of us are a samurai, ninja or actual Demon Slayer. So take this review as from the clueless Dad who wrote it.

A great Tanjiro blade, becareful with the fittings tho!
a nice semi- functional anime sword! the fittings are on the lower end as well as the synthetic leather, but the main focus is on the blade itself! the way they etched the blade and hand polished to make the black and silver pop out is quite impressive. since its not painted on... If you focus on the blade itself its nice, as far as the fittings and Saya(sheath) go they are too light and weak feeling, the Koiguchi (sheath mouth guard) came off immediately due to the thinness of the Saya and the Kojiri(end cap of saya) came off just trying to take the sword out. it is a 100$ sword and you get what you paid for, it is definitely not suited for Iato practice, the synthetic leather is super cheap and slippery with no grip whatsoever, when you try to use it for IAI practice, the blade gets stuck on the saya since its not fitted properly. and the blade isnt balanced at all, you notice it the moment you take it out of the saya lol. i have a few hanbon blades but this is definitely not their best. if you are into anime swords and want a wall hanger go for it just dont be swinging it around! dangerous lol

Almost perfect but blade moves around in the scabbard.
Blade moves in scabbard too much.

You get what you pay for.
It's a $100 sword, so don't expect to pass this down your family line. It came in a form fitted Styrofoam pack with no outer cardboard box to protect it. It was adequately oiled. The sword bag it came with is nice. The saya has no kurigata. I get the swords it's modeled after doesn't, but sword enthusiasts should be aware of this. Also, the tsuba is a bit smaller in diameter than I'm used to, and it feels kind of cheap. Overall, I am ok with what I got for the money I spent, but I likely won't buy another hanbon sword, and would only recommend them to someone looking for a decoration or costume piece. EDIT: Dropping to two stars after reading the description again. It specifically says this is suitable for Iaido practice but without a kurigata on the saya, it most definitely is not.
