These wall plates are builders grade and not what I would consider heavy-duty. a screw is included with each wall plate to affix it to the receptacle. The finish is glossy. If you installed the receptacle properly, with the box flush to the wall surface, these covers work well. I love this and I love the fact it was oversized. But I made a mistake and didn't realize I have a different plug so it didn't work I think I'm going to change the plug out so it does fit this plate cuz I really like the oversized look
